View Full Version : Anyone try requesting the 35k service early?

I tried launching my car a couple times and I'm getting really rough 1-2 shifts. Car has about 25k miles on it.

Has anyone tried to request the 35k DSG service ahead of schedule? I believe I have Audicare up to 55k.

You can do the services anytime you like. Once you use them, they are used up though.

You can have them do it whenever.

I did mine at 33k granted that's pretty close [:)]

Just keep in mind you did it early for when you need to do it again.

Yeah, like the others have stated, you can do that whenever. But, I'm a stickler for maintenance schedules and was disappointed when they completed that 35k maintenance before they sold the car to me with 33k miles on it. I stick to the schedule they have and then change oil every 5k. It's easier to keep track, for me anyways.

Had mine done at 30K no problem.

I did not have this experience. If I missed a window of 1,500 miles (iirc) before or after prescribed mileage of said service, I was unable to collect on them.

You got screwed then. Read the contract. My car had audicare on it from the previous owner and the selling dealership was cool enough to do the 35K mile service at like 25K miles knowing the audicare wouldnt transfer to me once they sold it to me. you are paying for a certain number of services and when they perform those services is irrelevant.

I believe it and I didn't press it as it was a minor one. I'd be checking if it were a service like dsg. I also inherited mine from the previous owner so I never reviewed what the stipulations were of the product

Wow, what a bag of dicks.

When I bought my car it had Audi Care on it and 13k miles. Fresh fluids, blah blh blah.

I had them do the "15k" Audi Care service at 21k, 25k at 26k, 35k at 33k...

Mike- Wait, are you saying they wouldn't transfer Audicare to you? Why not, isn't it supposed to go with the car? Mine had it from previous owner when I bought mine.

Shoot now you have me thinking. I quite frankly havent had to use a dealer service yet to know if it was transferred to me and never asked about it. I guess I just assumed they couldnt transfer it to me but I guess i'm wrong. If thats the case I guess they did it early probably so they could bill Audi for it, lol. Its actually fine with me though bc i probably would have done the DSG at 20K miles anyways.

Agreed. AudiCare is tied to the car and not the owner. It should always be active unless expired. There is also a time and mileage component tied to the service where the servicing dealership can pass on performing the work if if either component is not met. I've not heard of a dealership passing up doing said work but they can. I'd just go to another dealer.

Makes sense if you do your own work or use strictly Indy shops. You are also probably right about them wanting to get paid for the 35k service. Especially since it is a big one for them.

You can give AoA the VIN and they will let you know if you have Audicare or not. Tied to the VIN not the owner.

I just looked up my policy and it says I have audicare good until NOV of 2017 and up to 57K miles on the car. It gives an expiration date and mileage.

Audicare intervals do expire if not used within a certain time. Definitely not tied to mileage though. For example, I must have my 45k done within 12 months of the 35k service.

You qualified for service because you got to 45k which is a scheduled service interval. If you were at lets say 38k miles and less that a year removed from the original 35k service your dealer could absolutely refuse to honor the service agreement.

And technically you are required to be within 1500 miles of the scheduled service interval, but as I stated I have not encountered any dealers who would refuse service, just know that they can.

Or a year removed - implied.
