my buddy just picked up a really clean 2.8 a4...

he had 2 q's, so i figured id shoot them your way.

1. is it possible to buy a blank flip key and get a local place to cut it so he can have a flip key? obviously his isn't laser engraved and the remote buttons wouldn't work, but he really watns a flip key...

2. he was wondernig if anybody sells matching wood trim for the shifter surround bc his interior trim is wood.

thanks guys!

What year is his a4? He should be able to program the flip key too. A VW or Audi dealership will cut the key. If you have a VAG the key can be a DIY program job. Ebay is flooded with blank keys. Lambo keys work too =)

I got a blank off of ebay and had the dealer cut it for me. By the way the keys aren't laser engraved, they're milled.

If he had wood trim on the interior then the shifter bezel should also be wood... But it may have been changed for some reason...

I don't know if he has auto or manual but if he has auto, try these numbers...

8D0 864 261 N
8D0 864 261 Q

If he has manual...

8D0 864 261 J
8D0 864 261 L

Just to add to this, find a VW dealer to do the cutting. They'll charge you $10 versus the $20-40 that most Audi dealerships will charge.

Neo1130: will this reprogram work with an after market remote? I am not sure if i have stock or not because when i got the car it came with a different remote(does not look like anything Audi would issue) but the dealer said that i have OEM keyless. How do I check if i do or do not? Thanks

You might have a seperate fob remote that is not a flip out. You can get a flip out with remote in it to replace it.

Is there an audi p/n on it or anything? What are the P/n's on the back? But no, it will not work for an after market remote...

i think he's in the same boat as logic here...

he has an OEM keyless but it doesn't look like anything audi ever installed.

Find the control module. Its usually under the drivers dash. Look at it and try to find out what kind it is and I'll see if I have the procedure.
