hey everybody. today i went to jeff moss and got my GIAC flash. it feels pretty good, and pulls decently. on the way back from venice i took random turns and ended up on the PCH and just cruised it all the way to oxnard. there was a straight that i took the car to 130 on. i called my friend up with a wrx and i raced him. he has water injection, full exhaust, up pipe, downpipe, sti tranny, and all this other shit. we went from a roll and i would only lose to him by about half a car. i raced him after i drove my car for about 2 hours though and i only gave it like a 10 minute cool down, i think i was heat soaked. im pretty sure if the engine was fresh i could of taken him. all in all im happy

Yeah I don't think many chipped 1.8T's beat stock WRX's let alone one with the mods mentioned above.

did i fucken claim i beat him, i can even get him on the boards, he posts on clubwrx.net , and i have his car in my picture of the industrial area pics. stock wrx's are not that fast i dont know what your saying. i garuntee you a chipped Fronttrak will fucken destroy a stock wrx from a roll.

Top end on a stock WRX is pitiful, so claiming to keep up with a stock Scooby from a 'rolling run' isnt impressive in the least.

Does he have any kind of relfash? Accessport? Because a stage 1 WRX would smote you, sir. Fronttrack lol.

well, let me throw this in the mix...right now I have my wife's cousin's wrx in my driveway. it has the turbo xs utec, txs dv, perrin intake, txs FMIC(freakin huge), txs up/dp/cat back exhaust....I thought that thing would be fast as balls but it isn't. granted there's something wrong with the car and bitterchild is helping me sort it out but I swear it feels like a high 14 sec car at the fastest. maybe I'm being fooled by the smoothness of the boxer but it just doesn't feel all that fast. it does however get up to 80 mph pretty quickly although it's quite decieving. Now, like I said, this car has issues, one of which may be a wg or wg actuator problem so take that into account. To be honest, my car feels like it would roll the wrx and all I have is a chip/710N/TP. Oh and I'm on helluva driver....at least I think I am...[:D]

Stock stats on a 2004 wrx.

0-60: 5.06 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.06 seconds
hp: 227

I know what your saying though with it feeling slow. I have heard that from everyone that has one. The power is so linear that it dosent feel fast, but the numbers tend to speak for themselves.

^^^I've never seen stats like that. Ever. Ever. Independent magazines like Car and Driver, Road & Track, Motor Trend, Sport Compact Car have all recorded between 5.4-6.0seconds 0-60 and 14.6-14.9 quarter mile times. An STI doesn't run a quarter mile that fast.

Yes it does. An stock sti managed to run 12.88 at the end of the 1/4 mile stock here in mtl. I ran a wrx stock at the drags and did 14.4 @ 95 mph.

FWIW, i have 5 friends that have all been to the track with their STI's (when they were stock), here in socal not one of them has ever managed faster then a 13.5 (when they were stock). Many with good 60 foot times from guys who could drive.

if i had a K04,FMIC,full exhaust i would have of walked that wrx no doubt about it. i heard someone say that with a k04 pc-16 file they were taking 350Z's and STI's that would be soo nice if its true.

Last night i had a run in with an sti right after i got my clutch installed. We were in 3rd gear next to each other. We both punched it and we were neck and neck for a good 5 seconds before my k04 ran out of breath and i backed out. Off course thats when he started pulling but i never left third gear. I am suposed to be babying the clutch. I think i scared him at first. But i just let off the gas and he knew it. I gave him that impression that if i didnt let off the gas ida fucked him up. hehe. Either way stis = fast. wrx = meh. I beleive you by the way psi.

psipleasure

he has the sti tranny and its made his car slower, more wieght plus longer gears. he did it because he is planning on doing a gt35r turbo upgrade in the future.

i didnt say i pulled on him bitter, i said we both punched it because he was eggin me on. and i just floored it and so did he in third. In the lower rpms we were neck and neck, litterally for about 5 seconds. Then the sti began to start pulling hard and thats when i let of the gas, the k04 ran out of breath. The sti is way faster than my ride and there is no way i can pull on him. But i just wanted to see whats up. Whole run lasted a good 8 seconds.

i don't think i can pull on an sti anywhere, not even off the line. Maybe at 150mph? Then again I'll be rev limited and he'll probably by able to roll me out down a hill or something.
