I'm definetely jealous. Let us know how the install goes. [up]

i talked to greg at apr today. he said i should get it in a week or so. the bank wouldnt approve the transaction because of theft protection. so i hope to have it installed in the next 2 weeks. i cant wait

I have talked with greg many times from Apr, he will take care of you.

Are you going to do the install yourself? Took me 20hrs to do the full job. Another guy i talked to said it took him 15hr with a friend, so make sure you have some time on your hands.

he sounded like a pretty cool guy. i hope i dont hate myself for not going with the 3+

I'm sure you wont. Not until you actually ride in one that is.

You're running this APR stage 3 on a stock 1.8 block right. Is this dangerous at all? Has anyone with the APR had problems as far as blowing an engine or is it not enough power to do that?

01-02-2006, 10:22 PM
None I've known so far.

320 bhp is cake on the internals... of course a bad tune can blow anything so make sure it's working right

alright well it should have shiped today so it should be here friday or monday. then drop it off next week to get it installed. i cant wait!

AWD burn outs are the shit!

01-04-2006, 08:49 AM
^^^^Don't expect to do burn-outs without an aftermarket clutch in there. Didn't see one in your profile....

01-04-2006, 08:50 AM
Oh ya, congratulations on the S3 kit, I've been looking at that thing for 4 years now.....

01-04-2006, 09:16 AM
Sounds great. Like Red Rocket said, I hope you have an aftermarket clutch. If not your wasting your time. What exhaust are you running? Do you have a FMIC? I hope everything turn out, I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

first off, welcome to the club.
2nd, good luck with 320hp.. not gonna happen without a boost controller and race gas.
3rd, you better also be planning on the following as most people think its bolt on the kit and go:
-clutch and flywheel
-3inch exhaust if you want it to be flowing correct.
-make your maf is good, then get rid of your k&n..

have fun with it and dont worry about the block. i've been running it for 2yrs now and others run much more power than me on stocks.

I noticed a large dif going from my stock ic to the Evo. I think im going to move up to a 2.75 exhaust exhaust aswell. I dont think you need 3in.

01-04-2006, 04:21 PM
Bigger intercooler=more lag?

01-04-2006, 04:43 PM
i need to update my profile a bit. i have a stage 2 clutch/ lw flywheel, milltek exshaust, a greedy fmic, ecode test pipe, awe ko4 kit, turbo xs dv.

just curious... why ditch the k&n? i have heared this before but not sure why.

01-04-2006, 04:45 PM
Some say it causes maf issues, ive ran one for ever and never had a issue

01-04-2006, 05:11 PM
does anyone have any video clips of a stage 3 a4 in action. not able to find a whole lot of em

01-04-2006, 05:36 PM
I had one awhile ago, lost it tho. Going from a ko4 that ran low 14s, to stage 3 is a big jump. This thing just hauls.Ive had it up to 155 and just keeps pulling.
