Hi just was curious why the unlock button is not there. I understand you can just use the door handle to unlock it but I ran into a scary moment when my 4 year old pressed the lock button while I got out to put something in the truck.

I pressed the unlock button on fob didn't work kinda freaked me out obviously I forgot I could just use the key but my 7 year old climbed in the front and pressed unlock. I had the child lock on the door.

Just kinda curious

Thanks.

I'm having some trouble understanding your experience. The key fob should have unlocked your vehicle. Do you know if the battery was low? If you send me a PM with your VIN, I can look into this for you.

The car was probably running which causes the fob to not work anymore.

Audi removed the unlock button from the back doors a while ago as a safety feature. You don't want kids unlocking the back door. The A3 and S3 only have the "touch the exterior door handle to unlock" feature on the front doors. Even though the rear doors have the lock sensor molded into the handle it doesn't actually do anything.

Yea car was running and buttons on fob didn't work.

Eventually my son climbed up front hit the unlock.

Just panic mode I went into, forgot th fob had the key in it.
