Well, had some time off and thought I'd try to tackle a mod of installling new speakers in the rear doors along with an additional amp to power them. Although I had to do some dremeling around the speaker inserts, the speakers went in well. Upon trying to reinstall the door panels, I have not been able to get them to fully pop into place. On both doors, the issue seems to not be able to fully seat the olips. The new speakers seem flush and do not appear ro be the reason for the door panels to not fit tightly. I know towards the bottom inner portion of the panel is a type of strange locking mechanism that may be part of the issue. Anyone have any advice for getting the door panels on successfully?

Instead of only pushing in, are you also pushing down on the panel?

Thanks- turns out it was a rookie mistake on my part. I didn't know that the locking tabs that go all around the door panels have an 'open' and a 'locked' position. Several on each door were in the 'locked' position prior to trying to put the panels back on, making them unable to secure to their mounting points. Once I figured that out and popped them all to the 'open' position prior to putting the panels back on, everything went back on just fine.
