Hey all, I've been in my 2014 S6 for about two months now. I've noticed that in many songs, depending on the frequency of the bass, that there is a pretty significant trunk rattle. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to alleviate the issue and what exactly was the issue? It certainly is worse when I turn the music up to higher volumes, but whatever is rattling is apparently sensitive to certain frequencies because it will rattle when I have the volume as low as 3-5.

Thanks a lot,
Brian

Do you have the rear sunshade? I think mine rattles from there once in a while.

You may have some loose components in the spare tire area (tools etc). I have a bit of a trunk rattle that I don't notice in the cabin, but notice when I'm standing outside the car and ya song with deep base is playing- I have an aftermarket sub, so can't comment on Bose, although most folks with Bose feel the bass is too weak for their tastes. I've been planning on adding sound deadener inside the trunk lid panel and other panels to get rid of the rattle, just haven't gotten around to it.

Interesting, thank you both for your responses. Yes, I have a rear sun shade, I hadn't thought to check that. If it's the trunk somewhere or the tools, I suppose I could take a look at the bolts or add sound deadener of some sort to whatever area is causing the issue. I would agree about the Bose sub, it's a bit weak and without a separate sub control (huge oversight imho) I may add a second sub simply so I can turn down the bass to the rest of the speakers to eliminate distortion.

Thanks guys,
BB
