For the Better-transmission shifts much more smoothly without the jerkiness I had before.

For the worse-in the 14 the transition from 8 cylinder to 4 cylinder and back was seamless and unnoticeable other than the change of gray to greeen on the mileage guage. In the 17, I can easily feel and hear when the cylinders activate and deactivate.

Power feels the same for both.

Anyone else experience the same thing?

Strange! Even if I watch the DIS in the mode where it tells me if I'm in 4 cylinder mode, I still can't notice any difference when it happens.

In Dynamic mode, l can hear a change in the exhaust note when switching between 4 & 8 cylinder mode, otherwise, even with the gearbox in sports mode, l can only tell when the DIS shows 4 cylinder mode active.

It's completely seemless. [drive]
