Just a random FYI - Updated the TCU tune file when I went Stage 2. Behaves like it is suppose to now.
Left Foot braking works
Manual mode actually holds the gear and will climb past redline.. tach starts bouncing around 7.2k RPM.

When I first got it about a year ago - those two items were buggy. Nice work APR sorting out those bugs.

How is shifting in D? Does it always try and go into 2-3 gears too high?

What version and tcu box code? I just flashed today to lower launch limit and there is no update available to me.

Still can't hold a gear without it upshifting

Edit: nvm, auto shift is removed. I'm not sure why my dealer said it wasn't working, it's working for me. I guess it's actually a updated file, v1.0c? I'll wait till they ring APR and confirm

I can say that I re-flashed to APR to go Stage II and the TCU tune is markedly improved over where it was several months ago when I got Stage I initially. Shifting is much smoother, agree that it behaves like it should now. No more hesitation before clutch engagement in D when re-applying throttle from coasting and downshifts in S and M feel very smooth, just like they were in my previous B8.5 S4. I had wondered if this was a new version, it's much improved.

Your redline is at 7000 rpm? I thought that was only set that high with RS turbos. I'm guessing that sounds pretty bad ass sitting on the limiter.

Redline is still 6.5, but it revs past that now.. could be part of the stage2 ECU tune and not TCU related. But I'm just happy it actually holds the gear now. The checkbox was checked prior but it still auto upshifted in manual - this update is the expected behavior of holding the gear

Sounds great. I thought only stage 3, with the rs7 turbos, got the higher RPM. I'd be very happy with that.

I don't think Unitronic will ever offer holding gears in manual. [=(]

I got a p0219 code for bouncing off the limiter.
Says "Engine Warranty VOID!" lol

Lol. A very subtle code, not. How long do you think it was on the limiter to generate the code?

Bounced it off 7.2k for about a second, freeze frame says code generated at 6.8k. Makes sense as even the rs shift map is maxed at 6750 with auto shift enabled

Is it really that hard on the engine for it to be hitting the limiter like that ?

Unless you're constantly bouncing off it, Doubt it.. just a OEM ecu preset to let them know you're taking it beyond audis specifications
