I received a couple of PM's from people wondering about my car, so I thought I'd post it up. I don't usually post here, just browse.

Hey Rob. Thanks for the compliments :) I just got a B7 to go with my B5 so I've been on that board more. I just usually browse the B5 A4 forum.

So the car is a 2001.5, weighs 3200lbs with a full tank of gas. Engine mods: S4 Throttle body, port/polish intake manifold, custom phenolic intake manifold spacer, 510cc injectors, ceramic coated ATP exhaust manifold (port/polished), GT2871R, ITG filter, GReddy FMIC, custom FMIC->intake manifold hosing, 3" test pipe, 2.5" APR exhaust, SPEC3 clutch and LWFW. Brakes: STaSIS track sport front and rear (front= 332mm 4POT, Rear= 298mm S4 calipers)... I run 3 different set of pads, my favorite being my Porterfields. Suspension: H-Sport sways, Autospeed DTS, H&R Race and bilstein's, set on lowest perch in back, one perch up in front. Wheels pictured at SSR Comps running 245/40/17 Yokohama A032R. Rieger RS4 front bumper, S4 sideskirts and door mouldings, S4 Rear valance, RS4 grille, Fiber Images CF hood, Sparco Pro2000 seats.

There's more but I'm forgetting. I haven't driven it much in the past year and a half. I'll be getting a set of Penske coilovers soon here. But otherwise the car is going to be completely redone. I'm shooting for 400whp when I get the chance. Right now it's running untuned, but it still very fast with the manual boost controler (27psi). I expect the car to be completed and ready to race in about 3 years [wrench]

The 510's are installed in that picture. Software = lemmiwinks and GIACX for now - It's a mess. After I got the hardware setup, I kind of lost the ambition to spend any more money on the car so I left it. It has been the same for about 1.5 years. When I do decide to get my real setup going, it will be stand-alone. No bother in tinkering with it now if I know it's all going to go!

...but it's still fast (coming from a guy that drives a GT3 around in the summer).

Nice. CF hood looks better than I thought it would on a silver B5. Esp with the gunmetal wheels.

A hamster in a wheel, a carbon fibre wheel for the weight savings.

What's the deal with the S4 throttle body? Is this only for DBW cars?

The signature in the engine bay is Randy Pobst (and on the right side is Frank Beddor).

S4 TB is a DBW thing, yes :) I ran faster CAPS times with less boost after putting that sucker on.

Haven't decided just yet (has to be externally wastegated though), but some thoughts were a GT3076, K27, GT30/K26. I will study some boost maps before I pull the trigger... I have to get the motor built up first though :D

Does this require custom software or can it work safely with whatever off-the-shelf stuff?

Sherpa --

Are you having any throttle issues? Ive been reading alot of nasty things with the 01' models, and was wondering if your 01.5' has any problems with 20+ psi of boost?

I almost gave up on my B5, but thankfully APR released S3+, not to mention others are stepping up to the plate and releasing BT programs...

I have a TCD installed. The MAF sensor isn't plugged in right now, so that allows my engine to run like crap, but how I want it at least (boost-wise). The stock intake manifold was honed out a bit to accomodate the larger diameter TB... then it was retapped and installed. No other software was needed to make it run.

Very awesome car!!

Besides the engine build, what are you planning, to get you to 400whp?

How do you like the H&R race springs? We almost have the exact same suspension except that I have the H&R sport springs.

Again, very nice car ........... [up] [up]

Update.

I currently have the car for sale. I am selling because of a change in my living situation that doesn't allow me to have excess cars... I am, however, considering the idea of sending it to someone that can "finish" it off for me.
