View Full Version : What Exhaust Volume Do You Prefer?

MagnaFlow

Hi Everyone, we are conducting a quick poll here on Audizine to find what volume level you prefer in an aftermarket catback and how that compares to the exhaust systems we currently offer for Audis. As you know, our product line is always expanding and information like this helps us make decisions for future development. If you have a minute to spare, we ask that you please reply with one of the 3 choices below that best represents your ideal sound. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

1) Mild - slightly louder than stock (comparable volume to a muffler upgrade or conservative catback exhaust)

2) Moderate - significantly louder than stock (comparable volume to muffler delete or aggressive catback)

3) Aggressive - much louder than stock (comparable to full header-back exhaust or straight pipes)

2, had a 3 for the last year and a half and it gets old on a DD.

You can see the trend here...no drone. Why not just focus on no drone than overall sound? Adjustable valving and/or helmholtz type resonators. Also, add a "race only" option for boost activated cutouts located at the cats or as close to the exhaust manifold. Just a thought.

Valved, 1+3 selectable at my whim. Nothing else is acceptable

2, I've had 3 and it can be a bit much on a DD. Although if it was valved where I could do 2 and switch to 3 that would be preferred[:D]

4 pretty much strait pipe from cats

That is what I have with milltek sport valvesonic (non resonated) and it is too loud...you don't want this as you dd...

So My preference will be #2 BUT valvesonic. Any decent exhaust system needs to have this option if you want a happy customer

Currently, I have the suitcase resonator deleted and replaced with an X pipe. It's still not as loud as I would like.

I would like something that is quieter than my C7 ZO6 was, but definitely much louder than stock S6. Stock they are WAY too quiet.

What about a replacement muffler for the left side only. There is a valve in front of that muffler. If there was a direct fit muffler that could replace the left side unit that was pretty much a straight pipe, I would be all in. I haven't found anything that would fit well and mount the stock exhaust tips.

Edit: I really like the vavled setups. I would like a #1 with the option of turning it up to 3

If you guys come up with a solution I am definitely interested in buying it.

2- Awe resonated touring exhaust is perfect. Dead quiet on the hwy cruising and fun under load and cold start up.

You are correct! But I got the milltek fully resonated system. Much quieter than the non-res, I hope.

I am currently running your current catback exhaust system on my A7, I think that sound is perfect. The tone I wish was much deeper when WOT. If you need an R&D/sponsored vehicle let me know you guys are just up the street.

#2 or like a 2.5

I have your titanium exhaust on my 2004 evo8. 12 years and counting on the exhaust and I still get compliments on how awesome it sounds compared to some of the other exhausts or just in general. And then I tell them it's a magnaflow and they can't believe it or the fact Magnaflow built a titanium exhaust.

I'm in the market for an exhaust and been doing research and while I'm sure the magnaflow has great build quality and customer support which you guys are known for, its exhaust note just isn't doing it for me.

If your looking to make something a lil more aggressive sounding please let me know I'll be first in line.
