Hello there, I am planning on buying a tow bar from westfalia so that I can get as close (unless it is the original) towbar as the original Audi one that ceased production long ago for my car

It is an A4 2005.5 MT and I am planning on getting the plug and play module for it so that the car can know it's towing the trailer (as it was designed to do) when I was looking at the instructions from westfalia (seen here https://www.westfalia-automotive.com/fileadmin/pdf/e_anlagen/305/e305208391104-05.pdf) they talk about an equipment rack that your supposed to get, at which point I realized the instructions were for a RHD vehicle

What I'm wondering, is there a difference between the two modules that would be apparent if they were used incorrectly? (If I used a RHD tow module in LHD)

Was the equipment rack ever needed for the LHD vehicles? Considering the satellite radio tray is there I figured it can just sit in there, so do I even need the equipment rack?

Will the plugs still be on the left hand side of my vehicle (behind the trunk carpeting etc) Or will the plugs the instructions refer to be on the right side (because I have LHD vs their RHD) or is the reason they need the equipment rack because they don't have the satellite tray like mine does because theirs is RHD?

I am not worried that it is a 7 pin connector, as I plan to get a euro style set of lights or make up an adapter, my father did this on his gold wing because of the availability of a kit out in Europe for a removable trailer hitch vs no hitch available here

Thanks and hopefully you can help me out!

Hello Eric –

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your 2005 Audi A4.

I would recommend working with the parts department at your local Audi dealership regarding your questions. An Audi dealership would be in the best position to assist you with your technical questions regarding the tow bar. I would be happy to reach out to your local Audi dealership and have a consultant in the parts department contact you. Can you please send me a private message with your VIN, phone number, and email.
