I'm new to these forums. Just purchased these wheels for my 2012 A4 Avant S line on stock suspension. Stock wheel is 18x8 ET 47. Tested one Vossen wheel up front and its right next to the control arm (do I have that right). I've ready a ton of posts here using this size, most with spacers and some without. Tires from 265/30/20 to 255/30/20 to 245/35/20. I'm a 65 year old owner, so I don't need it in the ground; but think H&R OE springs are in order. Not a fan of the super stretched look. Just need to buy tires and springs that will fit and set up right around what I've already purchased - 20x10 et45. What springs and what tires will look the best and work on these wheels without rubbing issues?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170311/1fc219e9efb7242bd05f35367a7a8625.jpg

Welcome to the forums. This is actually the for sale section, but no problem.

My opinion, and I've just gone through the same scenario you are going through. it will be hard to fit tires with that wide of rim with no stretch. I just put on some 20x9.5 ET 37 with 255/30 R20 tires. I am not a fan of stretch either. Mine are on the verge of too much stretch for my taste. We also have the H&R OE springs on our S5 and they are a nice drop without being too low. If you are not a fan of stretch then you will definitely want to go with a 265 wide tire. The catch is, you stand a good chance of rubbing. Some people have run a 275 but they will most likely need some fender work/trimming. With regards to offset, with a 10" wide rim you have a much narrower window for spacing. From what I remember, ET 37-42 is the range for a 10" wide rim. You'll probably want to run a 5mm spacer to get to an ET40. I have another set of wheels that are 20x10 ET40 and i decided not to use them because of the stretch and they were a touch too aggressive for me, but they are definitely workable on our cars.

For a quick summary, my setup again is:
20x9.5 ET 37 with 255/30 R20 Michelin PSS. I'm lowered on KWV3 coil overs, and probably lower than you'll be on the H&R OE's. I have some minor rubbing on high speed turns or high speed dips. Nothing very noticeable.

There are lots of threads on these forums about this subject.
Good looking setup and good luck.

Thank you for taking the time to give your input. Much appreciated. After I posted for the 1st time, I realized I was on the sale section and wanted to remove it. Still have to figure out how to do that [emoji3]

i don't think we have the ability to do that, only the administrators do, I forget what they're called actually, basically the forum police. :-)

It's the wheel fitment discussion. There are a lot of pages to read through. Check out page 101, a post from staticuxo.

Here's another thread that's useful, and not as long.

Thank you - as you can 10" is tight. Spacers might be a must have item.

Looks like you definitely need spacers! How much room do you have towards the fenders to push them out? I assume that since you are in AZ you are looking for summer tires. Most like Michelin pilot super sports but there is a new pilot 4S that just came out. There is also a continental 6 tire that just came out. If I am wrong and you live in an area with snow, the 4S is a 4 season tire. Other good all seasons are Michelin A/S 3 plus, continental extreme contact DWS06 and pirelli p zero all season plus.

As far as size, I would think that a 265 would be the smallest that I would use on a 10 in wide wheel. I'd consider a 275 if you have enough room.

I've messed with suspensions (although never OE H&R) and the only combo that I've truly liked was eibach springs with Koni yellow sports on the softest setting. Those feel like the BMW factory sport package to my behind.

Nice clean garage and yellow 911 BTW.

I'd definitely invest in a hydraulic floor jack though. Those scissor jacks are dangerous in my opinion.

As far as fender space, it's hard to tell. I've seen guys with this size do 5mm spacers on front and 3mm on the rears. I'm just trying to see if I can do without. The 265 is what I'd like to install. Thanks for your input. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170312/6ea693ae2de7dcee491ca46b26ee460a.jpg

Looking at your inner clearance photo, I think your minimum up front is a 5 mm spacer. You could always try a 3 mm spacer up front since it sounds like you would put them on the rear of the car anyway.

265/30/20 Pirelli P Zero with H&R sports springs worked perfect. No spacers - no rubbing - no problem. Thanks for your input.
