hmm.. sounds interesting. Is this going to be like the subi utec with 5 switchable programs? I have a wrx in my driveway right now with the Turbo-xs utec. Haven't had a chance to play with it much but from wghat I've read about it, it's pretty damn cool. There seems to be alot of things you can do with it. It pretty much eliminates the need for an afc. Will the Audi one have a wb o2? It's seems like programs and maps for the subi's is a hell of alot more "open source" than for audi. Turbo XS has maps right on their site for download. you just pick your combo and download. then put it into the utec w/ a laptop.

Oh and I know Bitterchild will chime in here shortly-Tony, I'm going to get utec cracked this weekend. I've got a working laptop now.

Oh figures now they are coming out with it, this is what I was looking for, for years. I cant imagine it will be much different from 034efi though

well, I know the subi one doesn't completely eliminate the stock ecu as a standalone does. I think there's different modules or version but the Utec the subi I have has is more of a piggy back. It does however allow complete control of everything.

first I've heard of it. Kind of late for DBC though. I suspect they would be marketing a DBW model for the b6s. Great product though but like tom said, very similar to 034.

from what i understand it will be offered for dbc first. should be out before spring. i think this might fix my problems. and get me to around 400 whp. and unlike 034efi it will be obd2 compliant.

Wow, n-dbw first?!?!!? That's a miracle....

I'd like to check this out. Dave do you know where I can get more info? I checked their website and found nothing. Maybe I should pay them a visit when I get up to rockville next.

034 doesn't completely get rid of the stock computer just takes over certain commands per say.

034 can also run upwards of 1600 also. interesting that this comes up now[:D]

034 can compeltly get rid of the stock computer..mine did, if it didn't i would think u'd have cell's like crazy which would prevent u from passing inspection anyways

um...not sure if the Audi utec will work the same way but the subi I have right now has a utec w/ 5 programs on it. it does however work like a piggy back. The stock ecu is still there. I did read through their website though and it seems as though there is another piece you can add that will make it a fully stand alone system. the utec does however, let you control EVERYTHING. I mean everything. I'm not sure as to what the stock ecu still does but I know that the utec basically *acts* like a stand alone.

034 has an injector jumpbox as one of the stages

With the dbw cars you have to leave the ECU in for other things, so I guess I will find out sooner or later if it throws codes.

BTW hasn't this UTEC been around for a few years, I thought I read about it on vortex a few times.
