After installing the k-n filter I feel some power loss and less turbo noise, has anybody had the same problem? Gonna take it off tomorrow, total waste of money.

I've had K&N on my A7 and S7 and it was perfectly fine. If you put it into the OEM housing, your not going to get much more turbo noise, but you definitely won't get less power.

I'm running one as well in the oem air box. Basically no change to performance but it's a lifetime filter that i can clean rather than needing to replace it. It would breathe better than oem so loss of power doesn't make any logical sense to me.

The stock filter is heavily muffled, mainly due to the extra foam sleeve over it. I have heard of some K & N filters that were over oiled, which made them less efficiency, but mine wasn't like that.

Really, that doesn't make much sense?!?

Damn, maybe it's the air box hoses, they seem to broken, can this lead to power loss?

Just spoke to the Audi dealer, he sayd that he doesn't recommend these kn filters. Maybe on a4 and a3 but not on cars like s7, rs7.

Sounds like bullshit to me.

He rather sell you a filter that needs replacing every so often, than a filter that has a lifetime use.

You can check from the internet, this kn filter doesn't give you nothing. 0 gains. Not so often, every 50 000 and oem filter only costs 20 eur. So 20 euros after every 50 000 km.
We are talking about 110 000 eur car here, and you are worried of some 20 eur filter that needs to be changed once in two years. I was more interested does this kn stuff improve throttle response or not. No I can say for sure it does nothing.

Very well known that K&N filter does absolutely nothing for performance. Don't waste your money.

K&N is proven, and has been in business for over 50 years. They make all different types of filters, for many different types of vehicles. The filter probably does everything it is intended to do. I feel your disappointment lies in the fact that you had this notion that an air filter was going to give you some monumental increase in throttle response or performance! An air filter just can't give you that!

^This.

Keep your expectations realistic next time you buy parts. This isn't my first car, I've built and worked on quite a few. You will be lucky to notice any performance increase at all. What you will get is a quality filter that's manufactured in America, you can clean anytime without having to bother with running to the parts store/ordering ahead of time, it breathes better than OEM (should translate to a very minimal increase to throttle response), and primarily gives you a little more turbo spool noise.

When I had my Nissan GT-R I bought a set of K & N drop in filters and went to AMS to get a custom tune we tried stock paper his and k&n the k&n made 6 hp more than stock hks filters looked the best but only shoed 1 hp over stoock Chris Black was also surprised by the results, ps AMS was not selling k&n filters. I'm just saying I have had a set in my S7 for almost three years now with no issues.
