Hi Guys,

So I decided to put my 2016 C7.5 S7 onto a rolling road today (4 Feb 2017) to baseline where it is today in the event that I go for a tune.

There is no ECU or TCU tune on the car currently.

I have a Roc-Euro air intake fitted, and have a modified exhaust: Front Resonators deleted and replaced with straight pipes, centre box (suitcase) deleted and replaced with an X-Pipe. The rear mufflers have been replaced by Powerflow boxes.

The car has 18k miles on it, and it was using regular unleaded petrol. It was a cold day - around 8degC. Rolling Road was a Dyno Dynamics.

The stock Audi power figure for the C7.5 is 450BHP, so Im not sure if my 433.1BHP @ the flywheel is good, average or bad. I didn't test it before putting the RocE and exhaust mods on, so don't have a before and after figure.

Feel free to comment [drive]

At the flywheel means engine hp. Your dyno is at wheels (tires actually). I realize you don't have a Baseline but generally a Dyno Dynamics reads pretty low compared to many others. I'd be pretty pleased with those results. Mike

Hi Mike,

I thought the fFtLb was indicating @ flywheel on the right hand side?

I actually forgot to ask him [rolleyes]

edited: i see what you are saying. shouldnt be flywheel unless he used a correction.

edited again: I see he used "shootout mode" You're absolutely right he used a correction to try and estimate chp.

Honestly I wouldnt sweat the results then. They are in the ballpark of what the car should be making and who knows how accurate the correction is. I'd just spend 20 on a 1/4 mile day and check your trap speeds. If they are what they should be... thats that.

This is crank correct? Shame he didn't do WHP but torque is V healthy. If it's crank then depedns what correction factor and DTL it added. Mine on a dyno dynamics made 373whp

Graph curve looks smooth and healthy up top, with a little overboost and correction down low. That's all you are going to be able to tell from this, being that it's your first dyno (at this particular facility). However, now you have a true baseline to compare future modifications against. Congrats!
Follow bhvrdr's advise and get her out to the drags...[drive] [race]

We should meet at Santapod or something this year. Have a friendly run against each other and I'll let you have a go in mine

John, SRR traditionally runs a little low, exacerbated by it being cold so because it is a wheel dyno and not a hub dyno your tyres wont have been at their best. Also 95 RON? Shame in you, that'll be where a large part of your losses are.

Shoot 44 was originally designed for 4WD 4cyl cars (scoobies and evos) which have a diffferent power delivery, I'm always amazed Dyno Dynamics have never brought out an upgraded mode for AWD V8's.

Wouldn't read too much into it, if you had another stock S7 there on same fuel which did more then be worried but one reading on a dyno one day means nothing if comparing to the same or another dyno on another day.

Thanks for the feedback. Would running super unleaded make the car feel and run differently?

Maybe my next tank full will be 98 [drive]

Yes definitely. I run nothing but 99. I think dyno dynamics have upgraded their software if I'm not mistaken.

I always run on either Shell V Power or Tesco Momentum, more of the latter with the odd tank of the former. Whilst it is more expensive (V power 7% more expensive that their unleaded; Momentum 4% than their 95 RON) I on average see 8-10% better fuel economy on them which offsets that increased cost plus you get better power and initial throttle pick up. I also throw in a bottle of Wynns injector & fuel system cleaner (in Halfords) every 3k miles just to keep things tip top.
