In short:

Grab a tape measure and measure from the underside battery tray (locate the this power steering fitting on the rack seen as (A) for a reference of having the dead of the center transmission channel) and measure down to the transmission housing. Just lmk how many inches I have between the underside tray and the transmission housing.

Detailed story:

I'm looking to install something in the transmission tunnel area, I don't have the trans in the car nor the one I'd be installing so I don't know how much room I have. The shift cables should not interfere with fitting things there as are deeper into the channel. I believe dropping straight down from the p/s rack (A) fitting should land the tape measure somewhere in the ~flat spot of the transmission casting by the slave cylinder:

When you drop the tape measure straight down from fitting (A) just make a visual reference of where it lands too and lmk. No need to post a pic unless you want to.

Guessing for fun: My guess is I have ~9" and the tape lands in that split casting mark, dead center of the slave cylinder.

Can't really get a reference of where that fitting is, but above the low spot on the pass side of the trans it is 7.75" and above the high spot in the center it is 6"

Thanks man! Perfect timing as my piece just came in. [up] Appreciate it! It's a tough call as I have no reference.

Too cold out here and it was snowing yesterday, when I seen this post. But first reason is the honest one. Car is not garage parked this winter.
