Anyone (esp a white car) have their rear diffuser painted black? If so, can you post a pic? My car has to go to shop for hood damage and if it's there, I might just have the rear diffuser painted black. I have a glacier white s7 and would love to see a picture of something similar. Thanks

Was actually looking at my diffuser today and thinking the same thing. The Deval CF looked great on my S5 and surprised no one makes something for the S7. the Black Optics package uses a combination of Satin and Gloss black and the rear diffuser could look great with a spray of Satin and gloss on the trim piece.

You can order the OEM diffuser in black, as in from the Black Optics pack.

Huh? Never heard of that unless that is specific to the C7?

Too dark for a real pic but mine is identical. This is closer to dark grey. Definitely not black.

I used plastic dip and glad I did. I removed it shortly after ...I thought it made my A6 look heavy in the rear. I took a pic when I was removing the black. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170117/e8fc8b3b9bdb622edc4c800d5ea76c3e.jpg

You have two OEM choices regarding the rear valance, black, or platinum grey.

See here for an example: https://www.bks-tuning.com/oem-audi-s7-4g-c7-rear-valance-facelift.html

I have ordered the carbon valance for my S7 from these guys: https://carbon-designz.com/audi-s7-c7-s-line-carbon-rear-diffusor.html

Final option is to wrap the valance - I did this on my C7 A7 (which had the S7 valance fitted). I wrapped it in carbon, looked pretty good....

The facelift S7 has a more complex shape, but I'm sure a good wrapper could do a decent job on it.

that wrap is nice. do you have to take it off or just clean it really good and wrap it?

I took it off and gave it to someone to wrap. That way all the edges were tucked under the joins. Couldn't tell it was wrapped unless very close up. I had the AWE Touring fitted to the A7 C7 at the time [drive]

That's pre-facelift. If you look at their S7 section it shows the facelift version.

I asked specifically before ordering if the insert was needed and they said yes. Upon receiving it I can see the insert is probably the extra bit on the upper edge of the embossed mesh.

Bumping this from the dead.. Anyone that has painted the pre-facelift please chime in. What were you paying the body shops? I have gotten quotes and seems high. They want $275 to paint it and that's with me removing it and installing it.

That does seem a bit high, as the paint itself isn't much of the cost, but the labor- would see what they're hourly rate for labor is. Shouldn't be more than a total of a few hours between the painting/drying and potentially re-spraying. I think my Audi certified bodyshop out here is charging around $45/hr specifically for the painting labor.

Yea they have 3 hours labor and 3 hours of paint. One is ~50 and the other ~40

I plasti-dipped just the silver trim piece in the back. It removes with just a few torx screws. It looks better if you're getting rid of the silver and chrome accents anyway.

I'm in the process of customizing a RS7 diffuser to fit the S7 since it was cheaply available to me. Just need to order a couple more parts required to mount the exhaust inserts into the diffuser, then she's about ready for test fit. :)
