No it isn't mine, it belongs to another member here and I'm surprised to see it for sale. He spent a bunch of cash trying to get the fastest 1/4 mile time and now it's up for sale. Just wondering why he jumped ship already?

I think he traded it for a viper if I remember correctly.

Y'all are comparing the price of this car to used stock RS7s...night and day difference when you consider what is on this vehicle. I know you don't get the money you put into aftermarket when you sell but I'm pretty sure previous owner put over $40k in aftermarket into it.

Wasn't this car for sale months ago?

If his goal was to attack a certain time, RS7 would run into a wall at the moment with quite limited mod options so I'm not that all surprise to see him jumping ship.

If you're referring to low 10s as a wall then yeah lol

Agreed. I remember reading that.

He has those 2 tiny filters sticking out on the left and right under the hood. What is that?

Unfortunately he will find out that mods don't pay back come time to sell.
I have nothing against people doing what they want to their cars, but to turn a German sports sedan into a 1/4 mile drag racer seems asinine.

Agreed. Most wouldn't pay to have the car already at the level it's at but a few might.

I all for modding my cars. But I always buy cars with the intention of keeping them to 100,000 miles or more.

If I were the type of owner who liked to buy cars and sell them early, I probably would not go to the same lengths that I do in order to preserve resale value.

I think the modder already sold the car to that dealer; they've had it for a few months and have been steady dropping the price. It's not a for sale by owner post, though I suppose it could be an unusual consignment arrangement (not consistent I think with what the owner described in his post about letting it go).

But the point you make is why I think it might not make sense to turbo swap an S6/7 rather than just buy a used RS7 and go stage 1 (if you like the looks of the RS7, which I do not).

I'm in the S6 camp and not a fan of the looks of the RS7. Also a turbo swap of my S6 is a lot less money then buying the RS7.

That's the one point I would pick at, since the cost of a car is really the depreciation and not the purchase price. You don't get much, if anything, for mods when you sell a car (in fact they could make your car worth less than a stock one).

I much prefer the S6 > RS7 in the looks department as well.

The performance of the RS7 is super impressive, but I just don't get that excited when I see one.

It's the rear end of the RS7/S7 that kills the car for me. Looks hideous to me. In my opinion BMW does such a better job with the looks of the M6 Gran Coupe.
