Good news is that I am in he club, bad news is that the car has the OEM Pirelli Pzero summer tire on it and I need to go from Maryland to Connecticut when there is an expected 1-3 inches of snow.
Does anybody have experience with driving their A6/S6 in the snow with these tires? Should I be terrified?
Thanks

No.. you will lose control and possibly die
Edit: Since you asked if anyone had experience, I almost lost control twice on an off ramp going 15mph. Trying to start from a stop had my tail sliding towards the car next to me.
It really isn't wise, trust me.

I absolutely do not recommend that.

Not good to use summers in the snow or cold weather. They freeze up hard as a hockey puck, snow gets stuck in them and then you float wherever nature wants to take you!
Also in cold weather without snow, usually temperatures below 20 the tires can develop small cracks in them. I told my son this who has a 13 Boss 302 Mustang and he didn't listen...sure enough small cracks.
Either purchase pure winter tires or go with all seasons. Depending upon how much mileage are on your P Zeros you may want to try all seasons. I drive a lot and just got rid of my Zeros and picked up BF Goodrich G Force Comp 2 AS tires. They're a lower price than Michelins and Pirelli all seasons. I've driven @3k miles with them and so far I like them. They do have more road noise especially between 58-62 mph. Other than that they were great in a 7+ inch snowstorm. I had some fun in it.
Good luck with the ride!

i would look for the sottozero 3s or blizzaks that can be put on in your area that can put them on asap (today). even all season tires. dont put urself in that kind of danger. also why did your dealer not sell you winter tires?

OP, as an example, I took my A6 with new summer tires around my empty neighborhood roads at 2AM after a fresh snowfall. Even stopping from 20mph is terrible. I couldn't imagine driving in traffic around other cars, much less at highway speeds; that's just asking for disaster.

Wow. At least my instincts were correct. Will have to figure something out for sure.
Thanks everybody!

And not to pile on, but I can't imagine a WORSE summer tire for winter use than those PZeros...
2nd on buying madyspop's winter setup. Nice guy, trustworthy. (yes I know him personally)

I got away with it one winter in my A6. Wasn't ideal, but manageable if you drive with the knowledge and patience that your grip is compromised. I survived a weekend of about 4" of snow and a week of slush, and while the traction control objected a few times, I had no serious issues.

I run Conti DSW's for my winter's in Denver. Perform really well for an "all-season".

The new Cont DSW06 are incredible for ALL seasons actually! I run them on all my cars. They stiffened the sidewall on this newest version and I think they're great even as a summer tire!

I was given a panamera loaner last year for a week. Snowed last day I needed car. Has summers tires on it. Nearly died driving back to dealer. Epic disaster. Never drive in snow and probably not in temps less than 35-40 with summer tires

Get Winter Snow Tires!!! Car will handle better then any SUV!
Did a test few years back, and ran circles around our LandRover in the snow. Huge difference between All Season and Winter Snow rubber, let alone Summer.

What are the dates that you have to travel? I'm not seeing any below freezing temperatures and only a couple of days of rain for the NYC area in the next ten days. I drove from the NYC area back to western NY on summer tires in November (40*F) when I bought my car. Everything went fine.
If it starts snowing and you feel the tires slipping, find a place to park until nature melts the slush. A couple inches of snow doesn't last long on traveled roads.

Agreed. I've always had a set of dedicated winters, but this year I've been running the DWS06's all year and they have been great.
