2003 audi allroad. central locking stopped working one day for no reason, new battery in fob still nothing, drivers door lock feels like its not connected so have to lock/unlock with boot lock causing alarm to sound until key is in the ignition. drivers door will open after some gentle wiggling of the handle, other doors unlock and open as usual. the interior lights are flashing on and off also, would it all be linked to the ccm being wet or is there another problem? ive done some interweb searches but come up with different answers. has any one had this problem before and managed to fix it quick and cheaply (if there is such a thing with audis) [headbang][headbang][headbang][headbang][headbang][wrench][wrench][wrench][wrench][headbang][headbang][headbang][headbang][headbang]

First thing to do is check your central lock module and make sure she isnt wet. If shes soaked, thats probably the source of your problem. Is it possible a vacuum line came off the drivers door lock? Maybe?

Not sure but i had an
interesting episode the other day with similar symptoms, drove car, turned her off, got out and she didnt want to lock. I couldnt hear the pump actuating, so i figured, damn shes fried, going to have to take it apart again and just replace the pump itself. drove home expecting to hop on the web and find another pump, try to lock with key fob, works fine. so i guess mine was moody or some intermittent issue.

hope you figure it out, some one will chime in.

What the heck A6 you have that has a locking pump? I know that the B5/A4 had one, A6 did not as far back as 1998, all the latches are electrical.
That being the case, if you suspect the CCM then dig out your VCDS cable and scan it. If it's gone it'll have many problems to report or excessive COMM errors. If it seems ok, you might have to take the drivers door apart and go for the latch / door handle parts. The drivers door handle/ key lock setup is a little convoluted, but if you take your time it's pretty easy to get to and diagnose. There's a spring /rod system that keeps the key from spinning the tumbler too far and if it fails in a certain way the locks module gets a weird signal and wont arm the alarm properly or does false alarms alot.
