Do these really offer any benefit beyond sounding cool? From the past Audis I've owned stock box was king regardless of power.

Yes with out a doubt these are some great intakes stock tune you wont notice to much but running a tune with stock box vs the roceuro there is a noticeable change is acceleration

The performance gains and driveability differences over the stock airbox on the 4.0T cars is quite a jump. Highly recommended. The fitment could be a bit more refined but they sound incredible.
Here is one we installed on an S6

As you can see in my signature, I am a fan of Roc-Euro. Ran one on my B8 S4 for a few years and it performed great, supercharger whine was intoxicating. I'm sure you felt some sort of jump in power from the butt dyno but there still isn't any data to prove these do add power to these cars.
I don't understand why someone hasn't dyno'd their car with stock box on, let car cool down, swap intake, then put the car right back on the rollers to see what power this thing actually adds. I'm really anxious to see the results so I can make a decision on this. Hell, even if it's 5awhp, I'd take that in combination of that awesome noise it provides!

Super easy, took 30 minutes to install
My question is, has anyone removed the heat shield to put the factory air of back in. If so, how easy is it to remove those anchors that went into the frame holes?

Not hard, just need to have a magnetic pick up tool to get them out. They just fall in a sealed area when removed.
