For some reason my car did not come with the feature that shuts off the engine at a red light and restarts it when you lift off the brake.
Is there a way to enable this? I know it can be disabled via vag com. But I want to squeeze more mileage out. My city MPG is around 14 mpg

It would be helpful to know what kind of car you have? Presuming an Audi, but year, model, options, etc?

I would assume that if the car did not come with the feature, it would not be an option to enable?.?.

Of course I keep forgetting to update my signature. S6.
My car came with everything except the alcantara headliner and the retractable shades. I thought the stop/start was standard but I guess not.
I don't know if it's even possible. This seems like the best place to find out though.

I'm with my girlfriend right now, who sells Audis, and found me my 2013 S6 a week ago. I didn't know my car had this feature. I still need to confirm it, but it was standard as of 2014, when she started selling them. I'm told there's a button on the console with an "A" on it in cars that have it. As soon as I get off my lazy butt and go down to my garage, I'm going to find out. Given the relatively few changes from 2013 to 2014, I think there's a good chance.

Ok, my curiously overcame my laziness, and I just checked. I do not have it on mine, which is otherwise fully optioned. Sorry.
Does anyone else know if this can be enabled somehow?

Mine is 2015 fully loaded. Non existent. I think I am glad it is not available on my car. I rent 50 cars per year and 1/2 the cars have the feature and it drives me crazy.
In the US S6 it only started coming as a feature on the 2016 MY.
USA MY 2015 was the last year the S6 did not have stop/start. Glad that's what I have... :)
Since OP has a 2013 it did not have it, and if the car did not come with it, then it cannot be enabled.

If it doesn't have the button, it doesn't have start/stop. It does have cylinder-on-demand though.

Not sure I understand. The feature re enables by itself? I shut mine off on day 1 and it hasn't returned to active. Unless u r just a vag-com joneser...😃

If you shut it off it stays off.

On the A7 it defaults to on. You can VAG it to default to off which was the main reason I bought the VAG Com setup.
