Greetings All! This is my first post, so please forgive any novice errors.
[headbang] I'm looking for some help in getting a newly installed Milltek cat back system to properly function with the in car dynamic/comfort console settings. The car is not able to control the exhaust valve operation. I have confirmed that the valves function properly because the garage tech was able to toggle them with their in shop computer. The flaps are now in a constant open position. While the sound is fantastic, I would like to be able to tone it down as needed. If anyone can provide insight or information on steps to take, it would be appreciated. Thanks...
Tim

the valved system in OEM spec doesnt operate that way. the valves only close at certain RPM's when you're at cruising speeds to eliminate drone. if you want it to function in that way you need to install an exhaust module from CETE or the switchpath from AWE

Richi: Whoa, did I get this way wrong...I assumed from the hours of watching videos, that the flaps could be controlled without regard to rpms (flaps open start, flaps closed start) just using the dynamic or comfort control settings and the harness connection supplied by the Milltek kit. We just did a run from VT to Colorado, to Dallas to Memphis and home to VT. I70 provided a pace line headed by a beautiful M6 BMW that was doing 110 more or less for the better part of an hour. What a pleasure to feel the S7 at speed even with snows and 19" winter rims...Thanks for the info!
Best,
Tim
The best way to get full control of the valves and maintain the function through the the MMI is with the CETE module. When installed the valves operate in the following way:
Dynamic - Valves are Fully Open at All RPM (Also starts with valves open when car restarted, no need to open them again)
Automatic - Standard Factory Valve Behavior
Comfort - Valves Remain Closed until 5000rpm
So if you want to tone down the volume completely you would select the Comfort setting and unless you are above 5k rpm the valves will remain closed. When you want to go uncorked and really listen to the V8 sing select the Dynamic setting. You don't need a secondary keyfob or app to control the valving either, just use your MMI settings already built into the car.

Haha!! I have noticed that. Nothing comes cheap with these cars.

Cheers,
Thanks Alex. I wish this was available for my RS5 with the Akrapovic exhaust.
Does the comfort setting keep the valves closed on start up? My biggest problem was always not waking up the house on cold start early in the morning.
Thanks.

Yes, the valves will be closed on startup with the setting in comfort. Unfortunately the way the valves work on the RS5 is different than the C7 models. The RS5 uses the vacuum actuated system and the C7 uses to electronic motors at the exhaust. I can inquire with CETE if they have any intention of producing a similar system for the RS5, but since the systems are reasonably different I wouldn't think so.

Thanks for the response. No need to inquire for me. I sold the RS 5 to buy the S7. I actually bought the AWE SwitchPath remote system but never installed it. I'm selling that and will be buying the CETE system soon.
