Hi all and happy new year to everyone..
So I have a 03 a6 3.0L 156k~ and a few weeks ago...MIL came on....pulled code it was p0345 camshaft position sensor a circuit (bank 2)...its a pretty easy sensor to get to and I had the time so, pulled it, bought a new one replaced it...code still wouldn't go away, cleared it, it came back...figured bad sensor...took it back got a new one...same deal...I switched the 2 cam sensors on bank 2 (shoulda done this before I bought a new one) and same thing...code remained the same..to add on car started running really rough...misfire on the whole of bank 2 (4,5,6) all misfiring and now P0021 Intake(A) Camshaft position timing - over-advanced (bank 2) popped up..
I really have no idea where to go from here or what I should be looking for or at so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you checked your crank position sensor?

No codes to suggest I should....anything in particular I should be looking at/for with the crank sensor?

When I did a little research on the issue that's what came up as a possibility. Kinda makes sense, if the crank sensor is causing a mismatch signal between the crank and cam, the ECU may "assume" it's the cam sensor rather than the crank. But I don't really know any more that would help you, sorry.

I read up abit about the Crank sensor and my car has no problem starting...which seems to be one of the main symptoms for this...I will however pull it and test it just to rule it out...thanks for your input...

Also...does anyone know what this rubber hose is called or a part number..? I just noticed its split in the bottom and leaking oil but no part number on it...passenger side top of valver cover.
