View Full Version : Drag racing insurance

I got a quote for track insurance of $1,500. $30,000 coverage with $5,000 deductible. Seems pretty salty to me. Car is my DD so tracking the car unprotected is not an option. Anybody have track insurance? Does that price seem reasonable?

something that had a ton of "lols" in it. at those prices the take on that deal is 0% and i would imagine you won't find many other deals out there for much less.

you gotta pay to play and insurance companies are there to make money and not dumb deals. also not sure what the other details are in that quote - i.e. one time race premium, road course coverage, etc.

Try lockton. Its usually a couple hundred bucks for my track car and could be a few hundred for the Audi...

I don't know of anyone who gets drag racing insurance. Very safe as you are basically going in a straight line and a generally under 110mph unless modified and still under 120mph.
$1500 seems very steep and you still have a $5,000 deductible.

Track insurance for a circuit course etc. racers usually get for +/- $300 for the day through an insurance company at the race course that deals with this type all the time.

I was not too worried about wrecking and most S4 owners have gone faster on a highway. My 1/4 mile clip is below.

Haven't heard of anyone getting drag racing insurance before. The s4 isn't going to break traction down the track, so it's relatively safe. Just don't line up with a mustang [emoji23]

ah, the 1/4 mile track. yeah, never gotten insurance for that either though in fairness I do see wrecks at the track around every other time I go. Last time it was a 2016 Mustang GT. Still had new car tags on it. So weird the guy spun when halfway down the track too... not at the beginning. Bummer. Yeah, I just pretty much hope that no one hits me and try not to grid up with someone who looks stupid. The Audi is very very safe. My camaro is the one I worry that I'll be the one to kill myself, lol.

then again, you could pay the rate you quoted for insurance, get hit and still be out $6500 and every nickel above $30k that your car is worth.

it was "ironic" to not own a S4 (even if you have owned them previously) and yet have that as part of your screen name (from 8 years ago)? haha, then i guess being "dirt" ad infinitum is not at all ironic when that was your "attempt" at pointing out something that was allegedly "ironic"?
