Ok so I got a OEM RS7 Grill for my car. It was used and when I bought it didn't realize the guy took off a lot of the pieces to fit his new grill (no quattro script) The vin of his car is WUAWRAFC3GN903427.

So what I ordered so far is RS ring extender for my rings to fit, the sensor mounts and the the little pieces to fill in where my finger is pointing to cover up license plate holes.

My two major questions are this.

1. The sensor holders I bought don't seem to mount up correctly, no matter how I mock them up!!! I will be doing this install with a buddy who lives a couple of hours from me and has removed a C7 bumper a bunch of times. I just don't want to drive up there and get into the install and be missing something.

2. I think I need to order a front camera mounting bracket (For the back of the grill) and clip but based on the diagram I pulled up, I can't see anything like that

Here is the link for the diagram I am going off of. Audi parts link (https://parts.audiusa.com/a/Audi_2016_RS7Base/_51505_6787517/RS7-FRONT-BUMPER--GRILLE-GRILLE--COMPONENTS/1331030.html)

Parts ordered this far.

Back of my grill, to see what I need to order back there to make my S7 camera work
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n119/djpeak10/Mobile%20Uploads/20161227_161703_zpsphshulse.jpg (http://s110.photobucket.com/user/djpeak10/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20161227_161703_zpsphshulse.jpg.html)

And these damn sensor mounts! I have no idea how that is going to work based on looking at them and trying to put them behind the grill somewhere.
http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n119/djpeak10/Mobile%20Uploads/20161227_161931_zpsfifp4i3r.jpg (http://s110.photobucket.com/user/djpeak10/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20161227_161931_zpsfifp4i3r.jpg.html)

Please if you have any knowledge of this stuff please chime in and explain it to me like I am 5 years old![=(] I really want to do this right the first time but need your guys help.

Thanks in advance,
Jesse

Parts wise, I think this one matches. https://parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_2016_RS7Base/Center-grille-Grille--Front-Center/65133630/4G8853651MGME.html
Part is Black, carbon, w front camera.

Which adapter piece did you end up with?
Think you need this part for the camera. 4G8853391BT94 https://parts.audiusa.com/p/Audi_2016_RS7Base/Adapter/65133626/4G8853391BT94.html

The front distance sensors are mounted lower than where you are pointing, you're pointing at what would be the license plate bracket.

Front sensors mount to the sides, I imagine the slot on the sensor holder lines up to the inside edge of the backside of the grille.

This is a S6 thread but the gist of the RS grille is there. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/653577-HOW-TO-Remove-S6-Bumper-Install-LED-Headlights-Install-RS6-Grille?highlight=bumper+removal

The RS grille emblem and camera mount are one piece. If you ever look at a side profile of a C7 with the camera the emblem is raised a bit compared to a non-camera car.

Hey Jesse,

Did you read through my guide?

There is quite a lot of modifications that you need to do in order to make parts fit - even to the sensor mounts......

Edit - Jessie, having looked at your sensor mounts, compared to mine (see pics in my guide) lm pretty sure you have the wrong sensor mounts [eek]

For the front view camera, you need to cut the grill to make a camera opening, if it's not already cut, then the previous owner did not have the camera option (All OEM grills, brand new from the dealer, come unmodified)

It took me forever to figure out the camera mounting. The parts diagram does not help in this instance.

As Widebodyfx states, the front mounting plate for the rings has an integrated camera mounting piece. You have the wrong part - you have the ring mount for a non-camera grill.

Thank you for your help! So I did end up with part # you suggested but it doesn't have a camera mount but now that I read through some of the threads you posted it looks like I need a back piece that I do not have. Im going to go back to the parts department tomorrow to see if we could order this up correctly. Unfortunately the guys at my parts department do not seem that eager to help me. And on the sensors, yeah I didn't explain it correctly, I was pointing at the little license plate hole covers that I purchased. In looking at the sensor brackets I bought it just doesn't make sense but maybe it will when the bumper is off! Thanks again!!!

So, for the camera mounting - all the parts from your original grill can be used to mount the camera - you don't need to purchase any additional (rear) parts. You do need different front ring mounts - the one you have is the wrong part.

For the sensors - you have the wrong part. Compare to my picture - the ones you have are too short, which is why you can't fix them to the OEM grill.

I was just going to PM you[:D]

Ok so I will go back and get the correct front mounting plate for the rings. Am I correct that the little camera mount comes on the front ring piece that I put the Audi rings on to? I will also look into the sensor brackets. Do you happen to know what part #s to get for those sensor brackets? In looking at your picture they do look a little different. And am I correct that I need a backside mounting bracket (for the rings and camera)? If so any idea what part # that is as well? Honestly my parts department doesn't seem very enthusiastic about helping me get this right and I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed either, so any help would be great!

It does look like my grill is already cut for the camera, so hey at least that is already done! My buddy, QuaTTrings is pretty dang savvy so I know if I have the correct parts we can get it done but like I was saying he does live a couple of hours from me (with no traffic, hehehe) so I would like to get it right.

Thanks buddy!!!!!

Here is a close up pic of the modification that needs to be done in order to mount the camera. From your pic, l can't tell if this is done....

Yup, that is done on mine already! I was able to zoom into your post and find the part # for the sensor mounting brackets too. Now it looks like I just need to get the correct mounting ring bracket part #for the camera and I should be set!

Man I totally forgot about this post from you a while back, sure will be useful.

This may also help you (my original parts requests)

The correct front ring mount with integrated camera cover is listed near the end of the post.

(Note that my grill is black gloss version - Part numbers vary depending on the grille finish)

Joey, let me dig up the part #s for you. But just a heads up, each little tiny piece of plastic is $33 bucks! But hey, its really nice German plastic.

And they just clip in to the slots that are on the grill, super easy.

Good luck with the install. There is a lot of cutting of the grill required to make it fit.... Hope he has a Dremel or hobby drill, as an absolute necessity for the modifications.

Yup, got it. I've always wanted a dremel so I picked one of those up today too. Looks like I'm going to need to do some modifications to the RS grille so it should come in handy.

It will be worth the effort, plus l think you get to be the first in USA to do the OEM grille conversion [drive]

Very nice! I'm not that happy with the way the camera is mounted on mine, wondering if that part you guys were discussing earlier would help. It's 4G8 853 391C T94 correct? And that just clips to the middle with a camera cap attached? It has nothing to do with the fact the car is or isn't equipped with night vision correct?

I see your running a 2014 S6

There are differences between the 6's & 7's as far as grills are concerned, and the parts we have discussed are specific only to the Face Lift OEM RS7 grill.
