I sold my stock struts and the new buyer is saying that they are blown. I was told before buy a few companies that the newer Audi struts are Hydraulic and not gas rebounding.

Is there a way to "prove" that they are not blown? I know with gas struts the piston rebounds super fast, where the hydraulic ones dont rebound.

thanks for any info.

Comes up as a gas absorber.

So you might be able to have them check for any excess oil. Also while holding the strut right side up (base on the ground), press down on the rod to see if it compresses smoothly. Holding it sideways or upside down may not work properly. The strut should return to an extended state.

What did they do to validate?
