Is my search button broken you may ask? Nope. I just wanted to start a fresh thread on this.
Currently I have EBC redstuff pads all around with the 2-piece tru float wave rotors from ECS on the fronts only. Initial impressions were that they had way less initial bite than stock. however, better braking and pedal feel when you need it. With this pad and rotor combo it gets sketchy at times. I feel large vibrations - more like a shuddering actually - when on the brakes. it gets REAL sketchy when I slam on them (i.e. to avoid an accident or when im slowing down from 1XX mph after witnessing a bike cop pointing his laser gun at me. not srs. ok maybe srs. [o_o]
A friend of mine and fellow b8 s4 owner told me it was something to do with the material of my pads and my rotor not getting along. I forget his exact words. but the shuddering is scary, I want it gone.
So my requirements for a new set of pads are
-big initial bite (I loved the initial bite of the oem pads),
-great performance,
-linear braking/pedal feel, etc.
-I don't care at all about brake dust, I clean my car super often so it doesn't factor into what pad I will choose. I would easily buy a high performance brake pad that produced tons of brake dust.
Would be great to hear from you guys. Just got the word that my pads will be done for soon, so im looking to buy a new set of 4 in the next few weeks
