I thought i'd make an easily searchable thread to outline the supercharger belt sizes for various pulley configurations now that we are experimenting more. For those that have more knowledge, please help fill in the blanks.

I agree, great idea! I'd put it in a [code] tag or [table] though.
PM me your email if you want access to the google sheet with the pulley sizes on it.
@Loe, how tight is your belt? The crude math I did about a month ago when this topic came up in the DP thread would make your belt super tight!

Just picked up APR's 187mm lower pulley to use with the CTS 57.02mm upper pulley. APR sells it with a 7PK1300 belt to use with their 57.75mm upper pulley. Thinking/hoping that the .73mm difference won't have too much impact and I can run the 7PK1300 belt without any problems/slippage.

Arin told me it was a 1320.
I run a 1310 with the cts pulley and 186mm crank. This should also work for you.
I'm using a 6-rib belt I got off Amazon while waiting on my 7-rib to come in the mail.
BTW, here is all the information you could want about pulleys: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EvW8roNSYot_YYTeqKOHIREycLTlxWXLTyX8F25RI8c/edit#gid=0

Whiped,
Thanks for the info. I've been looking at that pulley sheet for months but had somehow missed that belt size was at the bottom. Thanks!
I called him the APR dealer and it seems like I did get the right belt...which is confusing based on that spreadsheet. Seems like it's going to be a REAL tight fit. Might just order a 1320 as well. Would hate to get to that point and find out I need a different belt.

1310 is the outside length, we are all using the inside length aka effective length
The Gates K080510 is 1294mm. (As claimed by Gates)
(08 Ribs, 05.10" effective length)
(Note: Gates, puts effective length in inches. Your belt's effective length is 5.10" => 1295mm)
I bought my 6pk on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0049BNJDG/ OR https://www.amazon.com/Gates-K060516HD-V-Belt/dp/B001R5W4EC/ (Note: these are both Heavy-Duty(HD) belts)

No, I definitely still had to grind the metal boss but a 7 rib 1335 or 1340 wasn't readily available. I was going to order one off ebay uk or somewhere but the 6 rib has been working fine. If it ain't broke don't fix it right? You just have to make sure the belt is sitting on the same set of ribs on the three pulleys. I would imagine if it was on the inner ribs on one and the outer ribs on the next pulley it would chew the belt up pretty quick.

I run a 6 rib as well. I just havent needed to go to a 7 rib. I have no slip at all. And Yes I actually could have avoided grinding the nub on the engine with the 6 rib belt. A couple folks have done that.
Mike
Thank you.
The google docs list above shows a 1310 wth a 183/184mm, but if I'm running a something a bit short perhaps a 1300 would be a better choice.
Also, is the Gates RPM largely superior to a standard belt - being in Canada, some of these models are a bit tough to find. I have a spare K080510 just in case, but if the RPM would last longer and less likely to slip, then perhaps I should go that way. I would just need to detemrine if a 1300 is a better choice than a 1310.

The "HD" belts are more heavy duty belts supposedly for tractors so they are actually stronger but you are right, they happen to be tighter too. I didnt know this until I was comparing two identical part number ones that are are supposed to be the same length and I couldnt for the life of me get the HD one on the car. I put them up to each other and sure enough the HD one is at least 3/4 inch shorter. Go figure.

That table was generated using crude math and a small sample set so is not the most accurate thing. 1300 should be close enough IMO, better too small than big.

Why would 57/187 take a longer belt than 63/187? APR s/c pulley is less diameter than stock s/c pulley, so the belt should be shorter when paired with the same crank pulley. The amount of conflicting belt info for APR is astounding here.

APR has 3 sizes, and the smallest is for the 2 smallest pulleys (APR s/c and OEM crank). I think those are the only things we can agree on at this point. Of those 3 sizes I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe the largest size isn't for the two largest diameter pulleys (stock s/c and APR crank). Arin simply saying "1320 rings a bell" is by no means a confirmation or gospel to go on when referencing a specific setup. Sure- 1320 probably does ring a bell...for the setup with the two largest pulley diameters, and thus, the largest needed belt. Also, I think Elite's post here is wrong. It defies all logic...even the p/n sequence seems odd as they listed it.
I'm not sure how you came up with your belt length calculation in your table, but it looks like some kind of 3rd order polynomial fit based on the crank pulley and something I don't recognize for the s/c pulley??
Btw- if you were the original creator of the pulley spreadsheet- thank you! I downloaded it last summer, modified it to my liking, and have referenced it a lot since then. I've added my own calculation for the belt sizing now too. It's simply based on wrap angles and basic circumference calculations.

I've got 187mm crank and 60mm s/c pulleys (quite exotic config, yeah)
Installed Gates K070508 which was sold as 7pk1300, box marked as 7pk1290, but in fact it was longer than another Micro-V 7pk1300. That kind of magic =D
So, there seems to be a total mess in belt sizes and probably APR's 1320 is actually not 1320 at all. I've got a crank of APR size and s/c which is close to their (I believe 60 vs ~58 don't make much sense) and 1320 belt which I've also tried (Meyle) was huge for this setup.
So, K070508 installed on my pulleys in a way that the tensioner is fixed in its last position. That's not very healthy way, so I've ordered a 7pk1310 here today: http://www.vdamper.com/GATES-RPM--7PK1310-7-RIB_p_91.html
Hope 1310mm is really an effective length and not the outer one. Has anyone tested this one?

To clarify RS100001 is 7PK1270, the RS100002 belt is a 7PK1300 and the RS100003 is a 7PK1320.
We recommend using Gates belts as we’ve discovered some differences in length from other manufactures despite them all sharing the same 1270,1300, and 1320 sizes.

If anyone is running a 200mm crank with OE sc pulley there’s finally an easy to get 7PK1340 on amazon. Installed it yesterday and it was tight but went on without issue. Initially it was pretty loud but now seems no louder than the Gates 6 rib fleet runner I had been using. That lasted only 8k miles before it started squeaking.

Anyone know what size belt fits a stock SC pulley with a KI 200mm crank pulley?
Just installed the new 200mm crank and the belt (7PK1325) supplied with it is to short.

No worries. I just installed that belt. Its a 6 rib so if you install it on the front ribs you dont have to trim the metal boss on the engine.

Out of the blue I was inspecting the supercharger belt on my car this morning and noticed that there is a bit of play in the belt. I don't remember there being this much when I installed the belt a couple years ago. This is the belt that came with the JHM 179mm crank pulley and I think it's a Gates 7pk1290. I'll have to check it again when it's in a better location. Is this a concern? From all my logs I don't seem to be loosing boost due to belt slip, but I would think a belt that loose should slip? Could it be a failing tensioner? It's not making any weird sounds. I have the stock 1270 belt and whatever Bando belt came with the CTS charger pulley. Maybe try one of those to see if it fits tighter?

Looks like you apply quite a lot of pressure. It is a belt. Not a hawser. Moreover, it would be torn apart a hundred times already if you had it slipping.

Makes sense. Just seems odd to me as I was pretty sure when I installed the belt it was much tighter feeling... Maybe the belt is just getting old.

I ran my fingers around and there was a slight trace of black dust. Barely noticeable with the dirt. Anyways, I ordered a Continental 7PK1290 belt. Wouldn't hurt to replace it as the belt on now looks pretty used.

My Gates 1345 is too big on my 57.55/203mm combo. Logs are showing boost drops above 6000rpm or inconsistent boost. Going to find a 1325 or 1330 to replace this 1345.
Not sure why my particular pulley set-up runs tight, it could be the idler pulley that came with my prior KI 194mm that is smaller? I mean, I used a 1310 for my 57.55/194mm combo, so in theory a 1325 would be the proper fit no?

On my 196.5/57 1325 is super tight and barley gets on. With your bigger upper I’d honestly would try to find a 1330 I think 1325 may be too small.
Edit: tried to find a 1330 with no luck but I would try a 1335 before the 1325 as I think it will be too tight

I talked to gates and they said cutting a rib off is totally okay as long as you cut it straight, and it won't affect the integrity of the belt

Just installed my XLR8 196.5 and I have a 57mm
7PK1325 fit just barely, 7PK1335 is probably the one to use!
Sorry, not a sizing question but figured since this was the belt thread it might be the best place. I bought a Gates RPM 7PK1310 when I upgraded my crank pulley to CTS 187. Fits great. But when I pulled it out of the package to install about 30% of one side was frayed. Appears to be brand new otherwise. I installed thinking after a few days those loose ends would come off. Still loooks the same, not getting any worse luckily. Is this something to worry about or ok?

did you shave enough metal off? I wonder if its rubbing against the metal since its on the rear part of the belt?

Yeah I shaved it down with several mm to spare. Checked everything and it’s not rubbing. The belt actually came like that in the package and hasn’t gotten any worse. Thinking it just wasn’t cut cleanly from the factory and somehow made it to a vendor and I was the lucky one who got the gnarly belt. I should have cleaned it up before installing. I might pull it and do that I guess.

Has anyone bought the 7pk1301 on europaparts? Yes 1301, not 1310
Just went dual pulley.
EPL 57.6mm supercharger pulley
JHM 187mm crank pulley
I wanted a Gates RPM 7pk1310 and have one ordered. In the interim, I wanted to go ahead with the install. I was able to locally source a Bando 7pk1300.
The Bando 7pk1300 fits just fine. While tight, there is still some adjustment range on the tensioner spring.
My question is this: The Bando belt is clearly labeled "Made in USA." Is this something new for them? I will replace this with the Gates RPM when it gets here, but I'm just curious as to whether this means increased reliability of the Bando belt. Should I still be concerned about reliability? I plan to keep it as a spare or backup once the RPM gets here.

That is what I ran with stock upper and 187 lower. 1310 was nice and tight. Spend the extra bucks and get a Gates RPM.
How tight is too tight? Do our tensioners have a range line? I didnt see one but not using service position.
I was running a 1310 with 187 crank and stock upper but after switching SC pulley to 57 I decided to try a 1300. It was super tight to get it on with the tensioner all the way over. Had to really grip it with pliers and almost stretch it to get it to fit.
Obviously loose would be an issue but what about too tight?

Not like that at all.
The belt has actually stretched some. After the belt was removed and cleaned, I noticed that it didn't take any effort to re-install it.
Normally, it would take one person to release the tension and one person to slip the belt over the supercharger pulley.
This time around, it only took one person. The tensioner is brand new btw.... Pretty interesting, ya?

For tight fitting belts, the two-person method is "tried-and-true." Luck has nothing to do with it LMAO!!
I agree, Gates RPM has a great reputation around these parts, so there must be an underlying issue that has caused it to stretch.
***Please note that I bought that Gates RPM 7pk1310 from a fellow AZ member for $10... Mad. Suspect.***

Aren’t you guys having to use the two person method locking the tensioner? You compress it all the way and push a nail through that hole. It stays compressed. Then, you route the belt and pull out the nail.
This does mean doing it from the bottom with the undertray off, but it’s just a one person job that way.

Using the nail method works but that doesn’t open up the tensioner all the way. For max clearance you’ll want to open the tensioner with a wrench and slide on the belt at the same time. Since the wrench will be in the way this is why I always pre-route everything except for the top pulley.

With a 57/187 setup you will want a 1300 belt. I run a Gates RPM 7PK1300 and have had zero issues. Unitronic, APR, IE, and CTS all use this belt size when shipping their dual pulley setups for 187/57. (Except it’s 188 for IE)

Can anyone with actual experience with a stock S/C pulley and 179mm crank pulley comment whether the a Gates K070508 (as recommended in post #1) will work? There is one or two conflicting posts in this thread, but JHM has advised that it is the belt that ships with their 179mm crank pulley and correct for combination with a stock S/C pulley. Thanks.

I currently have stock SC pulley, 187mm crank pulley. So the shop replaced with the same belt as before (APR RS100003), since the others were out of stock. No chirping or squealing so far, but then again I don't drive that much during the week. It took a few thousand miles for the car to start squealing the last time I had the belt replaced. I will report back if it does it again.

Follow JHM’s advice on the 179mm. That is a 7pk1290 belt. That is what I ran with my single pulley 179mm JHM before going dual pulley.

Nice thread here.
I’ve just installed a JHM207mm crank pulley and running the standard supercharger pulley. JHM specifies a 1370mm belt so I got one in and is very noisey and the tension in the belt is not even 1/2 as tight as the accessory one is. In Australia I can get a 1360 and a 1345 then next size down is 1290!!! I’m going to try a 1345mm and hopefully this is the one to use. U couldn’t drive it with the noise the 1370 made Fingers crossed.

I’m running a 7pk1300 with that combo. Tight, but I went on just fine and has been on for almost a year, now. 1300 or 1310, whichever you can find, should work.

With the 207 and the stock pulley I tried a few belts 7pk1370, 7pk1360 but can’t get them in Australia in a Gates brand. I had belt noise with all combos I got a 6pk1355 in a gates and no noise whatsoever but the 1355 was almost impossible to install. Needed 2 people and a strap under the belt to pull on.
The issue with the large pulley is 2 fold. The idler pulley runs very close (around 5mm) to the crank pulley so u have to put the belt in place first and do the final install on the supercharger pulley and 2/ you can’t push the tensioner on fully as it hits into the crank pulley. Ahh the problems of performance. Running a 6pk seems to work fine but ideally I’d want to run a 7pk to attest to any phantom belt slip. Do they make a 7pk1360 or 7pk1355 in a gates brand over in USA. Gates is the only one that eliminated belt noise

Thanks for the advice. I saw your post up higher; seems like quite the pain to run this pulley. Makes sense why you end up with a bigger belt if you can’t release the tension all the way. There’s basically no gates belts in 7-rib in the US. Just ordered up a bunch of different belts from the EU, 7PK1335 up to 1360 at each increment. I’m not finding anything for a 1355.

I didn’t see a 7pk1355 or 1360 in the US Gates catalog, but maybe I missed it. I did see a 7pk1355 in the Bando catalog. I may have mentioned this elsewhere, but when I went with my current setup, I couldn’t find a Gates locally. I did find a Bando and installed it while I waited on the Gates to get here. Bando is poo pooed by some here, but I decided to keep the Gates as a spare and see how the Bando did. Almost a year later it looks like brand new, no slippage, no fraying. I’m just a sample of one.
But, if Bando has something in your size, it is an option. Not to be provincial, and not wanting to stir up anything, I did notice country of origin on the belts. That may or may not speak to quality. Even so, the Bando belt is labeled “Made in USA”, the Gates labeled “Made in Mexico.” Go figure.

58.2/207 (Unitronics/JHM). Gates RPM 1345 just barely snuck on. Had to hold the tensioner, hold the belt on, then walk it on by turning the crank with the crank turning socket.
This would also be the belt for a 57.X/207. With a stock upper I’d guess a 1350 is the way to go, but take someone’s word who actually did it over mine.
Tensioner is limited in travel with the 207. Also the 207 actually interacts with that engine nub itself, so even though I had already ground it down for belt clearance, I didn’t grind it even and had to go further because the pulley was hitting it.

Yes the 207 crank pulley is a tight fit. With the stock pulley on the supercharger. There is no way I could get a 1345 on. The only way I could get the 1355 on was to use a ratchet strap to heave the belt over the supercharger pulley while someone else was maxing our the tensioner

Exactly. It’s a tight fit but wasn’t that hard to slip it over the tensioner easy enough.
I do trust 034s engineering and recommendations for just about everything but after seeing so many posts regarding Bandos poor quality, and nothing but good things on the Gates RPM I figured this was a no brainer.
My assumption is they probably just give Bandos with their kit for cost/inventory reasons but didn’t figure it was really worth the time to inquire over it

I asked 034 and they literally said “ we have been using our continental belt for years now without any issues”. No shredding of belts or anything. Slippage is probably the same across. My biggest worry with belts is that it’s too tight or too lose, otherwise you shouldn’t have a problem with a belt that’s fitted right.
I would rather use 034’s belt that fits perfectly than a belt that might be stronger but is a tight fit and might stretch

I’m not arguing the point cause I have no real life experience with SC belts outside of what I’ve researched. Just stating I didn’t get sent the Continental belt with my 190mm last week, they sent a Bando instead which I just didn’t trust. I defer to your experience, but my limited one is a bit different. I went dual pulley 57.7/187 93 octane tune about 14 months ago. At the time, all I could find locally was a Bando 7pk1300. I installed it. Tight fit. Ordered a Gates RPM 1310. Figured I'd install it if I saw premature wear or the Bando broke.
I'm still waiting, 14 months and close to 20,000 miles later. The Bando looks pristine, like new. Lots of Dragy runs. I realize this is a sample size of one, and my Q5 power level may be lower than guys running catless downpipes, more open exhaust, 100+ octane tunes and such. My ZF8 tune is also limited to 7,000 rpm to keep the supercharger rpm happy at 22,750.
I just keep checking the belt, but have found no reason to swap belts. I know the Gates belt is excellent quality. But, it appears that any problems Bando may have had may be in the rear view mirror.

Running 57.75(APR)/203(Fluidampr) with a Gates 7pk1345 belt already a year with no issues or observed slippage. Yes, it's a tight fit and not very easy to install.
As already mentioned before the tensioner is limited in travel with the 203 as well.
I don't think a smaller size belt would fit or if it does it would be a huge challenge to install.

Running stock 63.25 SC pulley with 203mm Fluidampr. They provided a k060525, but it didn't even come close. Tried a k060530 and it was off by a hair.
My guess is that a K060532 will do the trick for this setup. Will update if it fits.

Update: The k060532 or 1351mm belt was a perfect fit for a 203mm fluidampr and stock SC pulley.
I am currently exchanging emails back and forth with IABED to figure out why mine required a much larger belt than the supplied. Will update if we find out why my setup required the 1351 vs. the usual 1333 that is normally sent out with a 203mm/63.25mm setup. Also, if anyone has a hard time finding that size, RockAuto has them for $36~.

What are you talking about? lol
I've had my 034 belt for 52 000 miles with no issues at all running dual pulley on a pretty high pulley ratio. People love to talk about something they have no idea about. " Couple of months" if your belt lasts couple of months you have other issues on hand my friend. Belt slippage, belt shredding are for some reason always blamed on the belt itself but this is far from the truth.
My Bando worked for a week before blown. It was a 1320 for 188/57 that IE sent me with their kit, didnt slip according to logs (yeah, I was logging that night), but it seems didnt like the heat produced for dual pulley and just broke.
I put a Gates RPM 1310, and still running

Oh, and it cost me a new belt tensioner, which is not that bad to replace but the one I had was ok

Crank: 205mm
Supercharger: Stock
I’m able to easily fit a gates 7pk1350, also tried the gates 7pk1345 and it fits snug. I test fitted a gates fleetrunner 7pk1345 and the flat ribs wouldn’t allow enough length, impossible to fit even by rotating engine.
Made a video to help anyone, on how to use the idler pulley method for snug fitting belts. Bear in mind, I have the locking pin installed to the tensioner and front end in service mode.

I'm going dual pulley and am thinking about what belt I'd need.
Supercharger: APR 57.75mm
Crank: JHM 179mm.
Is it 1290, as shown in the table or ist it 1300, as I calculated?

Recently had to change belts on my CREC 2015 S4 (Australia)
Setup is APR Dual pulley
In the past when i first got the car, the belt on it was really noisy / squeaking so decided to go the ECS Red belt, 7PK1300
well, that was a nightmare, it fits.. just! but being a stiffer belt it doesn't flex as well so quite difficult to fit.
Started the car to an almighty Squeal that never stopped
tried everything including trying to sand the glossiness off as suggested in another thread, barely made it better.
used that for 2 days and gave up
Locally here in AU one of our part stores (Supercheap Auto) has a generic rebrand of Gates called "Calibre" bought a 6PK1305 which was in stock as a stop gap.
well 3 years on it only just became noisy and never slipped, i suspect getting coolant all over it a few times due to a bad thermostat was the cause.
Just picked up the 6PK1305 again, fits perfect and no noise.
best bit.. they are $5AUD on clearance at the moment.. that's about $3US.. i bought 2
should see me through the life of the car haha.
Tensioner is in the first 20-30% of adjustment so i suspect you could go to a 1310 without any drama
IF i ever need to swap for some reason i will try the gates 7PK1310 and report back but for now the 1305 does the trick for anyone else looking

Do you know the actual pulley sizes and ratio? I am dual pulley 57/187 for 3.25:1 ratio. Pulley brands are in my sugnature. I am runnung a Bando "Rib Ace" 7pk1300 with no issues. Running the same belt for years. It is tight but slips on with the tension fully extended and locked.
Can you get Bando in Australia? They list both a 7pk1300 and a 7pk1320. The latter may be too loose. I don't know. These sell in the US for about $20-25 USD. A brief web search seems to show that Bando has Australian distribution.
I realize the 6 rib belts are working for you, but maybe this information might help others.

Same size pulleys for me, straight APR kit, 57.75/187mm
I'm sure Bando is possible to obtain here, but this was more of a heads up that if you need a belt in a hurry locally or just looking for a budget option the 6PK1305 works well
being CREC if the belt slips you know cause it throws a CEL almost immediately (happened on the track with the original belt)
Here in Aus these cars are uncommon and even less so in the tuning community so we lack much info and availability of parts locally, even Stealerships usually need to order in parts.
FCP and ECS of course are available but unless you are buying a bulk qty of items, shipping is prohibitively expensive.
