Just received my EPL flash from home cable. Wondering if anyone has tried/had success with flashing from android tablet with a windows emulator? Not a tech guy so any advice would help. Trying to avoid using my work laptop.

Thanks.

I had a Windows 8.1 tablet from China I used for flashing and it wasn't very good. It worked OK at first, then it caused me nothing but grief including a failed DSG flash half way through. I wouldn't bother trying without something decent. I've used an Asus Transformer ever since without even the slightest hiccup.

I believe EPL uses the HP Stream tablets - and those can be had quite cheap.

I would not recommend it. If could easily lock up the ECU. There is a reason we call for a real windows laptop or real name brand windows tablet.

As said, don't use it, not worth the risk.

Get a real windows machine, I use an HP tablet.

Risk/reward isn't there..

You can get a tablet that'll work for like $80. Ask JPrice, he gets refurbished ones.

Fair enough. As suggested, l will grab a windows tablet. Not worth the heartache. Thanks for the input!

Do you have a connection on these? Or do you recommend Amazon?

A used or refurbished HP Stream 7 or 8 would be the best bet and they are under $80 normally and also don't forget to get a micro USB to female USB adapter as well.

I got a couple from Amazon from good rated sellers. They're both fantastic.

Good call on the OTG adapter

There's no windows emulator on android for x86 architecture, which I believe is the only architecture that works.
