Timing chains service?

I would be willing to bet if the timing chain service was done it would have been mentioned in his post, kinda a big deal.

Disclaimer, I mean this in a not disrespectful way. Am I missing some detail concerning the 18k price it seems quite a bit over the norm.

Wondering this as well. Plus the timing chain hasn't been changed. But again avants are "on demand". I'm sure someone is willing to pay to have one. Nice ride though.

The thing is people outside the Audi community don't know about the timing chain issue. I have called on several B6/7 S4s and only one person to this day knew about the timing chain issue, of course his B6 was priced accordingly and sold the same day.

Avans do catch a higher premium for sure! And like stated it will probably sell but most likely local to someone unknowing of the chain issues that audi people often question.

Totally understand the comment, no disrespect taken. That's the list price for a nicely maintained, rather rare, avant. I'd be willing to negotiate.

Great looking car, GLWS. This is fairly priced in my opinion. People who know what they want are factoring in that expensive preventative work and seem willing to pay. I've only had mine in the bay area for about a year and I have had offers to buy it off the street in this ball park. Of course, I'll never sell [evilsmile]
