Well guys I decided to buy an A4 that I came across that was cheap. Its a decent car but the clutch is gone. It will roll itself up to about 50mph on flat or down hill so I did get it to the house. Its actually kinda funny. You can step off the clutch and hold the brake and it will not even think about stalling. The car came with a clutch but it turned out to be a FX unit that I don't really know about. As bad as the clutch is I am sure it will need a new flywheel. Recommendations are welcome. I would like to keep costs down. I will likely use it through the winter then sell it. My DD is not good for winter. lol I will start disassembly tomorrow afternoon to assess the issues.

Thanks,
Jeff

Stock? With an fx I doubt it or the previous owner was... special.

Resurface the dual mass in it even if they say they won't they can. (if stock 228mm dual) or fx doesn't even come in 228. I don't know cause they suck :p

Others will disagree, but any fx is shit. They last about 6 miles and need to be replaced.

Once again details are needed. There's a billion routes to take, but without knowing what the power levels (mainly turbo/psi) how is anyone supposed to help?

Resurface the stock flywheel. If your getting rid of it after winter, throw in the new clutch and break it in properly and your should be good. Resurfacing the stock flywheel is probably your only option if you want to use this clutch you have. Good luck.

Well, I got started with disassembly and almost everything went to plan. I had to cut the post DP portion of the exhaust off due to rust and general don't caredness. I will likely just fab a DP and maybe the entire exhaust. Can someone tell me what material the stock DP is made of? 321? I'll use the flanges to save some cash. Also, how do I go about deleting the rear O2 sensor? What software do you guys use for tuning your own rides? I would prefer to tune myself. Sorry for the basic questions but I'm new to this platform. I do have one fitment question....
