Hey guys, long time lurker here.
I've been searching for seats that will sit me lower in our chassis. I'm aware that nothing is a direct swap and that there is one guy that makes seat rails that allow up to swap b6,7 and 8 seats but my big question is, are there anyone with real world experience with seats sitting you lower than our o.e. ones?

Not much you can do. Do you have a 2.8?

That's about as low as youll go. You could possibly chop the front the bracket a little lower though

The stock A4 seats are extremely low to begin with. My S4 seats are way higher.

How are you? I'm 6'4" and have no trouble in the A4s with headroom, S4s are a different story.lol

FWIW, I've got Recaro seats with Wedge seat brackets, and I'm about 2" lower in the car. I'm 6'-4" and participate in racing events, so having the extra helmet clearance is nice. However, I will say it's an adjustment sitting that low in the car, and it's rather difficult to get in and out.

That was going to be my next question. I dont plan on being 300 forever lol
Goal weight is to get back down to 240-220 So a racing seat would work wonders if I get 2" of space. I just didn't know how much space I'd gain.

Bikerbob951, mind if you tell me exactly what type of recaros you're using?
And is Wedge a company that makes the brackets?

Sorry for the delay, here's the company that made the brackets. http://wedgebrackets.com/seat-brackets-home/

As far as exactly which seats, I honestly don't know. It's a long story, but I sold my car, then bought it back two years later. During that time, the interim owner added the seats (which is something I had wanted to do for ages anyhow.) I'll try to get some detailed photos later, but the brackets are "custom" for cars with manual seats, you won't find this bracket on their site. The seats themselves are adjustable Recaros, with a sub-belt pass-through in the seat base, and one seat was used in a cage that braced the seat back. My best guess is that they might have been used in a rally car at some point, definitely proper motorsport usage though.

Thank man. How comfortable are those seats on long trips?

Recaro + Planted here, but yes... Mine sat at least 2-3" lower than the stockers, which was REALLY nice for helmet clearance during track days. Obviously, taller guys out there will appreciate this on a daily basis.

Phew lol
I would REALLY rather spend less than that for some seat clearance lol sheesh
And 2 to 3 inches is all i would need to be perfect comfy
