Wanted to share the before and after dyno results on my S6 for the EPL Stage 1 tune.
Been very happy with the EPL ECU and DSG tune that I have been running for the last few weeks. Their "at home" flashing system is super simple and probably the main reason I went with EPL. I have flashed back and forth from stock and from 91 to 93 with no glitches thus far. The results, in terms of any ill effects, is just as you would expect from a reputable company that knows what they are doing with these cars and this ECU. Other than the added power you would not know the car has been tuned. No glitches, CEL's, hesitations, hard starts, etc
Done on the exact same dyno (Dynocom FX5000) about 2 weeks apart
Before
Stock ECU and DSG Tune
Roc Euro Intake
93 octane fuel
appox 88 degrees
400 awhp 460 awtq
After
EPL Stage 1 93 octane ECU tune
EPL DSG tune
Roc Euro Intake
93 octane fuel
appox 95 degrees (HOT)
460 awhp 570 awtq
Resulted in peak gains of about 60hp and 110tq, and max gains of about 90hp and 135tq. These add up pretty close to their published numbers and comparable to other companies stg 1 tunes, despite the less than ideal temperature conditions. I assume their numbers were not take on 90+ degree days.

Nice before and after. That torque!
Mike
Thanks for sharing, that's good to know.

Fantastic numbers and would love to see another when the temps start to drop.

Thanks for posting. This is good info. I'm sick of seeing what I would call anecdotal evidence of horsepower and torque gains when they only provide data for the after tune. Having both tunes on the same machine with similar environmental conditions is great data. I'm impressed with those numbers and am leaning more and more towards an EPL tune in the coming months.

yes, the torque is pretty crazy. But makes me really want to do a turbo upgrade as these small stock turbo's do hit hard and early but just can't breath up top. Would rather take some of that low end power and have more up top and a flatter torque curve. Does make for fun 2nd and 3rd hear driving around town though.

Don't know if I would dyno stg 1 again.... but if EPL releases a tune for downpipes.... and maybe eventually one for upgraded turbo's, I would probably take advantage and happy to dyno and overlay everything.
But you will get you some track results later this fall once the weather is worth it
Good work on the product, hope to see tunes available for hardware upgrades in the future.

Stage 2 is not a problem and we are trying to work on the stage 3 kit as well.

If stage 2 is doable are you saying you already have a tune for intake and downpipes? What gains are you seeing over the stage 1 which is tune only?

We have a car coming in for stage 2 shortly.

Fairly certain I know who's car you're referring to, he bought my Milltek DP's and catback. Look forward to hearing the results, will you guys be testing before and after install?

If anyone is local to us we would be more than happy to do the tuning, get the turbos and we have a fab guy here if anything else is needed and the install can be done next door by Excelerate.

Why don't you guys move to the left coast? I would have been there yesterday.[:D]
MikeDwerks, nice work and thanks for posting the dyno numbers.

MikeDwerks, nice work and thanks for posting the dyno numbers.
We need some stage 3 guys on the northeast coast to go there. I'd be there tomorrow if I could but I'm in central OH.
Got to be some stage 3 guys up in the tri state area?!?

What are expected gains from stage 2 to stage 3? How much are the RS7 turbos for the upgrade?

was your original stock dyno done with 91 or 93? in your original post you have stated 91

funny you noticed that, as I thought about that later after the stg 1 dyno session. In retrospect, I am 99.9% sure I was on 93 for the stock dyno. I even went back and looked at my CC activity to double check. Where I live 91 is the standard, but one of the few stations that has 93 is to be close to me and I don't go there for any other reason than if I want 93, and records show I filled up there a couple days before the stock dyno.
Don't know if it would matter or not on the stock file anyway.

I'd imagine with how complex the ecu's are that it would make a small difference, nothing like a difference that 91/93 would on a tuned car.
thanks for clearing that up :)
