I would think the ECU is busted if you didn't have that before

Hopefully not [:(] After this post I did some more research and i'm pretty sure the ECU is an auto. Came out of a Passat no less. That should fix the P1613 and hopefully fix the "programming not finished".

The throttle body is something you just need to re-adapt with new ECU's. That would also cause the weird idle I didn't mention before.

Luckily since my father is in the car business, we have a VAG-COM on hand and a friend who will re-program it [:d]

You literally just change a 0 to a 5 or 5 to 0.

He has the vag-com on him now. He'll do it since he'll be right there lol.

As an update:
Got it coded to manual, and also told it the car didn't have any traction control since it was also looking for that. That fixed the P1613. Also re-calibrated the throttle body so that code is gone as well.

The P1681 "Programming not finished" still appears however. Unless there is some 'fix' for this i'm leaving it. The ECU works just fine and the code doesn't trigger the CEL so whatever. Also threw plugs and coils at it for good measure. Old coils weren't very happy with the extra boost and cyl 3 started misfiring under load. Runs a bit lean also so have a O2 sensor on the way. No vac leaks and the maf is pretty new.

Much faster car [:d] Breaks front tires a bit in 1st if you floor it. I still don't know exactly how much boost its running. Should be 14lb.

14 would be low. Stock is like 8-10.

No boost gauge? That should be the first thing you buy right away.

So as a wrap up the new O2 sensor made a big difference. Picked up some HP for sure coming from the original one. Picked up some torque steer too if you lay into it in first [:p]

P1681 still comes up but its harmless. Runs all the monitors etc w/ no cel.
