I've never wakeboarded before but did a lot of water skiing back on the day. Lake Grapevine is def a good place and excellent scenery. Haha

Once you get over the lack of tall trees, it's a pretty nice place to live. I was pretty depressed when I moved down here from NJ in 1986. I loved being in the hills/mountains of NJ. I grew up in Cranford, but rode my bike all over the north half of the state. You will also enjoy the much longer boating season.

Ah. . .lake death. Is there still a death there every weekend?
Lake Grapevine is a little smaller, and a lot more friendly, IMO.
I live in Katy's Woods, by the Gaylord. I sold my boat a few years ago because I very rarely ever used it.
The official Audi Club Lone Star is active and we are trying to put more events together. Here in DFW, it's been a little slow lately as the president is expecting and I have been (and continue to be) out of town caring for my mother. The Southern portion of the chapter has been pretty active, and I went down to San Antonio for our last fun run. It was a blast!
If you're not already a member of ACNA, you should be. If you are, and you're in Texas, you're a member of ACLS (Audi Club Lone Star). Events are scheduled on our website: www.audiclublonestar.org. You can also link there from the main ACNA website. We have fun runs, track days, dyno days, happy hours, and dinners. Hope to see y'all at some of our events. [:)]

That sucks bro
I had same thing happened to me on my blue E class, only the paint was white.
Try carnuba wax if it got on your paint. Check out Chemical guys they have a whole line of products that can get that green paint off.

All I have are some crappy pics of it in my garage. I will try to post some nice outdoor pics later this week. Car has already been clayed and sealed. I will save a full three stage paint correction to the spring. However the paint is in pretty good shape from the factory. I also attached a picture of my prior M5 I just sold. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170105/ded3211ce7a3c5f7557e78e498e6f772.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170105/c3241387f70d70c9a3e2b05cd21c733f.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170105/de5586ea965752360d7227eec427d2e8.jpg

Hey guys, before it happens I would like to bring something up!
Audi Club North Dallas is a Free community Audi enthusiast/purist group, we are not here to compete nor replace Audi Club North America and/or Audi Club Lone Star. We actually would like to work with them and attend their events when they occur, also encourage our members to be a member of ACNA (Audi Club North America) it's not expensive and you get some benefits along with discounted events. Check out their website.
Our group of Audi Enthusiasts/Purist is to bring an Audi presence to the DFW car scene and automotive events, we are a free non profit group of friends that like meeting other people with same automotive interest and offer advice/referrals to other members from buying to modding cars.
Every and any Audi owner is welcome to our group regardless of age, race, gender, modifications, income level, affiliation with any other clubs and so on.
The only thing we ask our members is to respect everyone in the group, at meets and on the road. You all not only represent the group you also represent the brand.
With that being said any member, admin, executive from either ACLN, ACNA or other Audi groups in the DFW area are more then welcome to join our group, as we are welcome to join theirs!
I have a really good relationship with ACNA and the SoCal Chapter and would like to continue that with the Lone Star Chapter and do some joint events. Anyone that opts to become a Lone Star member mention that you were referred by Audi Club North Dallas.
Just wanted to clarify that! Hope everyone is having a great week, stay tuned to some exciting events coming in near future!
Drive safe!

Although there have been some problems between our southern members and ACH, we have not had those problems up here in the DFW Metroplex. Let's keep it that way. All Audi lovers are invited to attend our happy hours and dinner gatherings. There's one this Saturday (Jan.28) at Tolbert's in Grapevine. Check out our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AudiClubLoneStarChapter)and let us know you're coming so we can arrange accordingly.
Texas members of ACNA are automatically members of ACLS, as we are the Texas chapter. Although membership is not required for our social get-togethers, there are a lot of benefits that come with the $49 annual membership. 6% off a new Audi and invitations to official ACNA events (fun drives, track days, dyno meets, COTA suite, etc.). You also get a subscription to Quattro Quarterly, which often has pictures and stories about our events.
There are a number of ACLS member that would love to attend more events, me being one of them, so I can see both clubs benefiting. The one thing we should avoid is scheduling our events on the same days. Apparently, that has been a major contributing factor to the problems between clubs in the south. I am the one responsible for scheduling meets, gatherings, and fun runs in DFW. Although I have dropped the ball recently due to family issues and moving, I am working on scheduling these events for the rest of the year. I will avoid scheduling anything on your planned event dates, so long as I know when they are. My only request is that ACND does the same. I checked your schedule of events and see nothing planned since January 19th, however I am supposed to be scheduling the social events (dinners & happy hours) for the rest of the year today because I've put it off. Typically, we have our happy hours on Thursdays, and dinners on Saturdays. You can always check our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AudiClubLoneStarChapter) or the ACLS website (http://www.audiclublonestar.org) for the calendar of events. I look forward to attending some of your events (except Cars & Coffee, which is too damn early for me) and hope that y'all can do the same!
Please, come to historic Grapevine this Saturday and join us for dinner at 5:00. I am going to try to commandeer the parking lot across the street.

Details for the Inaugural Twisted Sisters Drive by Audi Club of Houston.
This is a driving experience you do not want to miss!!! This will be a circuit through the famed Twisted sisters in Hill country. If you want to have a great day of spirited driving through beautiful scenery and make new friends within the Audi community, this is the event you must make plans for. We will stop for pictures, videos, food and gas along the way. We will have 2 routes; the inner loop will be approximately 3-4 hours and the outer loop will be approximately 7-8 hours long. We will have Audi enthusiasts from other cities joining us too. Just like everything we do, this is a family friendly event so please feel free to bring your significant other and kids too. After the drive the hotel will hold a special reception for us with drink and appetizer specials. Let’s make this a start to a great event we can hold annually. Please see below for more details. I was considering doing this same drive next weekend, but I am not sure if I will be done rebuilding my suspension in time! I do have to head to Austin to work on my son's car, so if the stars align, I will try to meet up. Hopefully you do not mind a B5 Passat joining the mix.

So I hate to be "that guy" but would you be open to allowing me membership despite me living in Waco for school? I've been looking to get into the Audi scene in Texas and since I've got family in Little Elm I'll be spending a lot of time up there on weekends. There's no Audi Club of Waco afaik (lol) so I know I'll have to go either north or south to join one and I'd rather go north.
If it helps, I'll probably be moving up that direction after I finish my degree.... :D

For Audi Club North Dallas, I'm not sure if they have anything other than Facebook. I just did a quick search and didn't find anything from ACND that wasn't on Facebook.
For Audi Club Lone Star, you can link to the national registration page from audiclublonestar.org. ACND is free, while ACNA/ACLS is $49/year.

Blair doesn't do exhaust work but they recommend you go to Exhaust Authority in Plano. I stopped by for a muffler delete quote and it sounded pretty reasonable

Hello everybody... I was curious to know if anyone would be able to view a vehicle in Dallas for me. I am located in Orlando Florida and would like to purchase a vehicle located at the Fort Worth Audi dealership . I don’t mind flying there to look at it but if I don’t need then I’d rather not as I do trust the judgement of a fellow AZ enthusiasts.
If anyone could help out that would be amazing and I don’t mind paying you for time.

Wouldn't think too crazy about it just yet... Texas is kind of weird, you don't have to have the title to register a car if you can show you had it registered and insured already, even in another state. When I moved here from Iowa I had my truck registered and when I tried to sell it 3 years later, I realized I didn't have my title. It took about 2 weeks to get the title in.

Yea i took a look at him and some of the race Audi' hes used. I envy the silver b5 and that white TT. Looks like to much fun. Id love a couple laps with him at the wheel pushing the car to limit.
I get the out of state thing but maybe Im being impatient... I just figured being a larger dealership i wouldn't have any headaches and i wouldn't have to call them constantly to ensure the papers are being filed as should. I have a shipping guy literally waiting in Dallas for the car lol

Probably the worst last name of someone I've actually known, was Buttram. He was in the Navy before I met him, but I can't help imagine how awful it must have been.
"Hey, you - Seaman Buttram..."
With a name like that, any branch would be rough, but the Navy? It wouldn't have been my first choice.

If you're not set on a Plano location, I use Family Tire in Grapevine. Call them, get a price on your tires with mounting and balancing and see how they compare. If it's acceptable, they'll get your tires the next day and schedule you to come in. They've always been real careful with my wheels. Blair Automotive also sells, mounts, and balances tires. Just call around.

Do you guys get pulled over because you are missing your front license plates for those of you who chose to not have one? Also, Speed Shield is great for coatings, wraps and clear bra's. They're located near my work place in Addison, TX, come stop by if you're in the area. I'm the Sales Manager at Texas Auto Value, a small family owned and operated used car dealership. Sold a couple S4's as well!I just approved the FB request
Depends on what tune you want to go with.
I recommened Zinkwerks -Unitronic
Others will say blair automotive for APR.
Read the rules before u ask that question on the fb page.

Anyone have any first or second hand experience with a place that does paint correction and possibly a coating in DFW that they can recommend?
Yes, New Image Auto Detailing, Kody Keuter. Tell him Doug from LSC sent you. There is no one better, and prices are reasonable given the quality of his work:

Grand Prairie here. My wife and I just purchased a Q7 last weekend for her new ride.
I previously had an Acura TL and almost purchase an S4 but went with the C450 AMG instead.
I gotta admit the Q7 so far is great. Has enough power, a smooth ride, and very nice overall. At first I didn't care for the look of it but it definitely grew on me.

Doug I had Kody do a 2 stage paint correction on my car this past Saturday and he did a great job. Not only did he clean up the ride really well he also is an awesome guy.
Thanks for the recommendation.

As an ACNA member, you are already a member of ACLS (Audi Club Lone Star), the official Texas chapter of ACNA.
There is another group in North Dallas (ACND), and yes, FB is the only way to join up that I know of.
The ACLS events can be found at https://audiclubna.org/lone-star/.

Anyone know of a reputable shop within the DFW area? Preferably on the Fort Worth side? Just bought a used car that now I think has a blown head gasket... Would like to get this in and out as soon as possible.

I have a ‘16 S6 and recently bought a RS6 grill from Stonecarbon2009 on EBay that some other folks have bought and have had good luck with. I called Blair Automotive and they won’t install it. They will only install the OEM RS6 grill. I watched the install video and I don’t have the tools nor the time to do the install myself. I live in FW so maybe I’ll call Zinkwerks and see if they will install it. If not, I may have to just buy the OEM grill. Any thoughts or anyone have an aftermarket grill installed in the metroplex?

And they are a great shop! They did some work on my avant for me while i was moving so didn't have my tools. Did great work at reasonable rate and met me on a Sunday evening to pick up the car, as i was flying back into town and needed car to get to work Monday morning. Just an awesome all around experience.
On a side note with the number of people on here including myself that don't do facebook it would seem it might be a good idea to create a mailing list to let us know when an event is coming up???

Most expensive is Dallas Performance (https://dallasperformance.com/index.php/dynofacility/) (3 hour minimum).
Most reasonable is PRT (https://prtperformance.com/dyno-tuning-and-testing.php)in Lewisville.

You can search Row52 for local yard inventory. They generally take the wheels off when they come in though. Can be hard to find some good ones.
What year though? The bolt pattern changed from 5x100 to 5x112 a little over a decade or so ago.
I have a set of each in my garage. The 5x112's are RPF-1's with Falken RT660's... I'm going to take a wild guess that she doesn't need those. [emoji23]
