I've been looking around for a remap for my A7 3.0 TDI 218hp (CRTE) and have found that the the 3.0 TDI 218hp (CRTE) is a detuned 272hp (CRTD) or so I've been told. I have searched through the Audi engine parts catalog and all the parts for the 218hp CRTE engine are the exact same parts for the 272hp CRTD engine. So can anyone tell me what is actually different other than the software?
They have remapped the 272hp engine to 328hp and say the same remap works perfectly on the 218hp engine as it is just a detuned engine, surely this can't be true? Thats an increase of over 100hp for about 700 euros!

Hi, I thought I would post up and let you know how I got on. I ended up buying the remap kit and installed it myself. Took me about 30 minutes to do with setting up the software on my PC, backing up the original map and uploading the tuned map. Holy ****! it's like I've been given a completely different car! Going from 218hp up to 328hp is very very obvious no need for a rolling road test. This is easily the best 600 euros I've ever spent :-D
If you've been on the fence do yourself a favor and get the remap, you will not be disappointed
I'm looking for someone who have done the bsr 3.0 TFSI tune :-)
I'm just about to order, but would like to have at least one ahead of me.

Can you flash back to stock to avoid TD1?
you can flash back, don't know if it will reset counter.
the "PDA"/ flasher keeps the original file in it.

Thanks for the info. I've been contemplating having my 3.0TDI tuned. Just haven't chosen a tuner yet and am waiting until I pass 50k miles.
From what I hear, the dealer will know you have a tune, or have flashed back. They can see that the flash counter has changed. Probably best to just let them know up front.

I would have thought if there is such a thing as a flash counter they would reset the flash counter when re installing the original map. Anyway I'm absolutely thrilled with my flash, I've been running it since Wednesday now and I can't get over the difference. If you've got the 218hp engine I'd definitely give it a go, you will not be disappointed! :-)
I believe the 218 version mostly applies to the tax heavy countries like Norway Belgium Denmark and so on.

That would be Ireland too. For example the cheapest A7 in Ireland will cost you 66,100 euros (without any optional extras) and in Norway the cheapest A7 will cost you 56,100 (without any optional extras).
Also if you compare the basic spec's of both cars the Irish one will be missing a lot more than the basic spec from Norwegian A7. If you try to match them up identically you will see the Irish price shoot up even more. We get ripped of buying cars here, it's nothing to do with Audi but the Government and VRT Taxes. If anything Audi trys to bring down the cost as much as they can by removing lots of extras.
Anyway back on topic, the remap is brilliant! :-D
yes you are right, I did not even know you could get it with a 1.8 TFSI FW drive :-)
But again, at that.price it's a barebone piece of a car.
