The belly pans provided for modern Audi's have always appeared to be under-engineered, out of place, cost-cutting parts.

Many enthusiasts have chosen to run their cars without this protective cover entirely. This decision, however, ignores the unfortunate reality that the belly pan protects several critical engine and drivetrain components.

ECS has a much more sensible solution – The Street Shield Skid Plate features corrosion resistant, air-ventilated, 5052 lightweight aluminum, with all hardware, offering complete engine undercarriage protection.

Wtf is a "Stree Sheild"? New APR product?

it's an aluminum shield for the belly of the car, they were quite common on the earlier jetta/gti, and some audis as the 1.8t engine used an aluminum oil pan that if struck at any speed basically shattered which is why they came out with the hybrid metal pan too. This product is also good for people that live in climates with snow/ice that can result in damage by going through the stock plastic belly pan.

I think he meant the misspelling of "street"?

That being said, I ran one on my 2012 TDI and can tell you they work great!

Jason, is there any issue with fitment of the shield, if we have an aftermarket X-brace installed? (Eurocode or 034)

No issues have been reported with using our Street Shield and an aftermarket X brace.

I got mine installed today. My tuner / installer said it was a major pain in the ass. Took them two hours to get it to fit, haha

Jacked the car up when I got home and snapped a couple pics. Should have had them take pics when it was on the lift.

Looks good though and that logo has to be good for at least 5 additional horsepower ;)

I love this thing. How much does it weigh? How much more than part it replaces? I am worried about the fitment, as mentioned above. Have you guys had much feedback on this issue?

11.5lbs.

It doesn't really leave too much exposed when compared to the OEM piece. It's almost an exact copy just in aluminum of the front piece.

Fitment is great! Though it can be tough with only one person, but it can be done.
