View Full Version : Said Goodbye to my RS5 today and Hello to my new to me S7

9 months ago I sold my highly modified S5 convertible and picked up A loaded RS5 and swore I wouldn't change a thing.
I was wrong.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160810/a2f0e85af0cfe303c7f467b1e21d62ef.jpg
I started with the Eventuri intake which was in development stage when I bought it from fellow member @Mbrock.
This followed by:
Akrapovic exhaust
KW HAS springs
BLK Wheels
ECodes
And some 034 bits.
Oh and not to mention, the Wintersport tires and a new summer set for the BLK's [emoji16].
With 2 early teens, we completely outgrew the RS and I was getting tired of all the complaining about going in Dad's car.
So the hunt began and found exactly what I was hoping for. A 2014 S7 Prestige, with BO and LED packs. But first, back to stock for the RS and collect all my OEM parts.
Back to stock, before saying goodbye:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160810/6ef186141bb2160b2942d70d24d10361.jpg
And finally hello to the S7:
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160810/a01541aba73334f91423ccbb8b84821d.jpg
So once again I swear I won't touch a thing.
But that didn't last very long when I saw the HRE 797's in 21" for sale in the C7 classifieds.
I also ordered a new set of the Conti Sport Contact 5P in 275/30/21.
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160810/001087a4fea291b915cf47421b089ba7.jpg
So my initial impression of the S7 is this is one refined and smooth car.
The technology and interface is better than the B8 platform. The interior is much nicer and looks more upscale than the RS5.
I ran the Akrapovic in the RS5 so I got used to the noise and couldn't believe how quiet the RS was in stock form. The S7 is similar, very quiet. I actually didn't realize how quiet and refined this platform is.
I would like to stay away from tuning and a loud exhaust for a bit so after wheels, what's next?
I'm looking forward to jumping in to this section of AZ after 3 years in the B8 section.

Congrats on the new car! I wouldn't spend the money on an H&R module, I would buy a vag com cable instead if you don't have one already. You can lower your car that way among a ton of other cool stuff. I do agree with getting the Tag painted reflectors up front for sure. I haves some videos on youtube highlighting the S7 platform (modification wise). if you search my name in youtube they will pop up "Jesse Papike" maybe they will give you some ideas.
Congrats again and welcome to the club!

Did these in both the S5 and Rs5. Great idea.

Funny, I never noticed the amber until I started trolling this section.

1st modification done.. I swapped out the T-Mobile simm card on the MMI for an AT&T card. Seamless. Now getting AT&T service in the S7, much better in my area.

New wheels on. HRE 797RS in 21" x 9.5" with custom offsets. We're riding on ContiSport 275/30/21. I really like how it looks but don't love it yet. We'll play with some spacers to get a perfectly flush look.

Very nice! It's crazy, I just picked up the exact same car. 2014 glacier white metallic, black optic, b&o, driver assistance, heads up, everything but the comfort seats. I love the diamond stitching. I even have the same wheels and tinted windows. These are awesome rides.

Congrats! What car did you switch from? I came out of the RS5, this is a night and day personality. Sounds like you are more optioned out than I am. I am Ibis White, black optic, LED pack, cold weather, no B&O , no drive assist, no heads up.

It sounds crazy but I sold my c7 corvette to get the s7. C7 corvette for a c7 Audi. I needed the practicality of the Audi but still wanted the performance.
The Corvette has awesome performance but the Audi beats it in every other category.

I know that feeling, but share your sentiment. Needed the practicality and all around this is a great car. I was even able to load some 72" goods in the car with seats down. Had no idea it was this long [emoji1303].
Enjoy your ride!

Did you buy yours in Long Island? I've been watching the white ones for awhile waiting for the right one but ended up going to Florida.

You need to go to the comfort closing section on Central Convenience.
There is a subject on this forum for VCDS coding.
If it has been programmed, you can set it up on the MMI.

Some new updates to the S7 in the past couple of months. The HRE set went to a new home and switched back to the OEM BO wheels on a new set of Pirelli Sottozeros in OEM fitment.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170303/486a0345a15b4a3fe292a6504f1ffa46.jpg
I'm using 12mm f /15mm r H&R track spacers for a more flush look.
I also had the 034 Rear sway and end links installed. [emoji1303]Huge difference in body roll. The S7 feels planted in the turns.
Next, I jumped on the EC Alu Kruez group buy and had this installed yesterday. Noticeable difference in control and neutralizes the understeer. The 034 bar + AK brace = [emoji16].
Next up. Had these beauties finished and installed last night

I love wheels but have the hardest time deciding on them. I had the opportunity to pick these up at a great price and jumped on them.
Rays Volk G25 in face3 20 x10 Et25.
I'm excited to get these on. Hoping the weather will warm up and make the swap.

What setting did you use on the rear sway bar? I'm on the soft setting right now and thinking about switching to the stiff setting. I feel like with the soft setting, the car could still be much better in the corners.

Haven't updated this in a while but finally swapped out the OEM spokes with winter tires and mounted the new summer shoes.
Sold the HRE set and picked up a set up of Volk Racing Rays Engineering G25 Classic. 20x10 et25 with 275/35/20.
I've never owned black wheels before but decided to go outside my comfort zone. Not loving it, but growing on me. I do like the concavity and My 13 year old says he likes the menacing look.
Excuse the dirty car...

Wheels are very nice! Ditto to Mikey's comment, stock ride height on 7's looks a little off with more neg offset wheels but drop it about 30mm and you'll love the difference that makes.
