Anyone else heard/seen the rumblings that Audi might kill the V8 in '18 and go to a V6?
Possibly...

Then no more rumblings...pun intended.
Would be a shame... The v8 TT stock sounds amazing !

I wouldn't be too worried.. Porche still invests a lot in v8 technology. Maybe the 4.0tt goes away and is replaced with the 3.8 and if that doesn't happen, then we will just have to save more and go Porche. :)

I don't know what models will get it but it's already been confirmed that both Bentley and Audi will get the new Porsche aluminum 4.0TT engine

I am probably reading too much into the "aluminum" above but the current 4.0TT is already all aluminum.
Anyway, a revised 4.0TT could end up being reserved for the RS7 and R8 since we already know a V6 R8 is in the pipeline...probably bye-bye to the V10.

Yep. I don't expect the S6/S7/S8 to lose the V8 any time soon.

Taken from CB and MT also said the same thing apart from mentioning the models (if I remember correctly).
"Porsche has launched a new aluminum 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 for the new Panamera Turbo. This engine delivers 542 horsepower and can even deliver 335 horsepower at half engine speed. This new engine could be seeing a lot more usage. Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said “Porsche’s new engine plant will also contribute towards synergies within the Volkswagen Group.” Porsche recently spent $88.6 million on the plant that builds 200 units per day of the new V8. It seems that Porsche's V8 will also see duty in the Audi A8 and Bentley Mulsanne.
The Panamera Turbo can hit 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with this engine and a Turbo S model could pack as much as 600 hp. Despite the immense speed, this engine is 30% more efficient than its predecessor and is built with a modular structure that can accommodate a hybrid drivetrain."
