Hey folks and welcome from the D3 forums. I had a minty clean ibis S8 and got tboned by a tractor trailer that ran a stop sign. The car was totaled and I walked away from the wreck.
Anyways, I figured the C7 S6(mines a 2013), would be a good replacement. And it is, I love it. I picked it up yesterday at three oclock and brought it home. This morning I went to grab a coffee 5 minutes form my house. On the way home I stopped at a stop sign and just as I was about to proceed I got an error saying ACC and Audi Braking Guard Unavailable with a strange red picture in the speedomoeter with a car icon.
Any ideas? I did a quick search and some say a sensor or alignment. I tried what others said and restarted the car with nothing

It's probably an issue with one of the forward-facing cameras (in the front grille or in front of the interior rear-view mirror). Those cameras would control both functions. Nice looking car btw. Good luck with it.

I'm pretty sure that the camera in the grill has nothing to do with acc/braking guard. The option is available without it, just the sensors in the lower corner of the grill and camera mounted on windshield are used.

Could be something as simple as debris on one of the lower units up front.

Both ACC and brake guard use the forward facing radar units (where the fog lights would of been) l don't believe there are any cameras involved (but l stand to be corrected on this)
If switching engine off and restarting does not cancel the error message, and you don't have VCDS, then l would advise a dealer visit since the radar modules are very $$$ to replace, and alignment is a dealer only fix (due to safety implications)
Having this happen less than 24 hours after picking up the car is a little concerning but from what I have read, it seems there are others who have experienced this as well.
Did the dealership perform an alignment recently? Any reason to think there has been any repair or replacement to the front bumper? What did the dealership say when you brought it to their attention?
Hopefully it is nothing and if they reset the codes it goes away. Good luck.

I had this. Mine gave similar warning saying that the ACC and brake guard were disabled. Restart it would go away for a while and them come back. After a while I finally took it to the dealer who diagnosed a faulty brake module and replaced it. No problems since.

When I got the car it had brand new tires and brakes installed for the CPO sale. I noticed the windshield also isn't OEM. It had been replaced at some point

Interesting, perhaps they used the wrong windshield! The C7 S6 has 3 different windshields depending on how you option the car ($500 to $1000). If the car has lane departure warning and/or HID, it needs the more expensive glass. Good luck.

The camera in the grill is a thermal cam for Night Vision Assist. Radars and mirror camera are for ACC/brake guard.
