Hello. I have recently bought an Audi A6 2016 facelift car and between many other optionals it features the security package ( lane assist, side assist, Adaptive cruise control). I have seen an option online (maybe it's only for the A7?) called traffic jam assist and it also keeps the car on the lane not only breaks and accelerates in a traffic jam. Is there a way you can activate this option? Does the A6 2016 facelift model has it?

Thank you for your answers.

2016's do not have Traffic Jam Assist function.

Do not know if it can be activated via VCDS. No one has tried it yet.

This function is currently only on the new 2017 A4/Q7...so it may require an upgraded hardware (camera system, and new MMI).

what chucky said, its only available on new redesigned platforms like the a4/q7 and every redesign moving forward(not 2017 a6/7)

although... you are in the european market so that may be slightly different as you guys get features we don't in the states but i'm fairly confident that the a6/7 do not have that option

Wow. This forum is very active. Thank you very much. Kind of strange that the a4 has this function and not the a6..

traffic jam will allow to car to come to a complete stop and then go again to follow the leading car, ACC only works above 20 miles an hour. Also it will allow the car to "steer" around a car in front of you if part of that car is in your lane. I.E. if someone is getting off the road but is still partially in your lane

Oh that would be a cool retro fit my account brings me to a stop and starts again when I press the gas or cruise control stalk

This isn't quite correct (at least here in Europe...)

One of the features of ACC is to allow automated start/stop in heavy traffic. When l have ACC set, and traffic slows to a crawl (definitely under 20) the car will auto brake and come to a halt if nessecary, then start moving as soon as the car in front moves off, while maintaining the distance selected on the ACC stalk. This is fully automated, and does not require driver input.

Cruise control cannot be set below 20mph. Cruise control and brake guard are similar, but different.

The auto steer function I'm not familiar with and lm not aware of it in European Audi's (although there are of course lots of automation development works going on). Maybe l missed it!

We have automated lane assist, but that's something completely different (car will auto steer to keep you between two white lines on the road.
