I think I'm suffering from this (see headline). If there is indeed a clip that's meant to hold the pads as others have suggested, can someone tell me the Audi part number?

Lol, nope. That's just the way the OEM pad compound works. You won't fix it without changing pads to a different compound.

The compound is not OEM and the squeak is not from contact with the rotor and associated vibration. It's literally the pad moving around while NOT engaged (e.g. when going over bumps). Is anyone else actually familiar with this issue?

The last time I herd movement (thud) going over speed bumps or road imperfections, my caliper carrier bolts had loosened and the caliper is what was jiggling around.

Apparently there is adhesive on the back of OEM pads which the HPS don't have. Just greased them up. I think that's the problem in my case. I'll check on calipers though. Thanks!
