I was surprised at how well I kept up with Stg 1. A lot of fun.
He really lost me in the Conners 😠.

Ehhh, a high ratio stage 2 car would give a stock GTR a pretty good run.

What year? Isn't the face lift like 550hp? New ones I thought had like 600.

I was informed when I dynoed with my dual pulley setup i was putting down very comparable numbers to a stock GTRs on same dyno. Similar weight, similar straight line...

Wouldn't you say a race gas stg2+ s4 would give a stock 07-09 GTR a good run? Those cars in stock form are a bit slower than the 11+ models. At least from what I've seen comparing my friends' GTRs at the dragstrip

You'd have to be comparing the fastest Stg2 S4 to the slowest GTR...
But generally speaking they aren't really comparable.

I played with one a couple months ago but just from behind....
It looked like he was WOT and my timing was pretty good so he didn't destroy me.
Obviously he was faster but it wasn't a walk in the park.

Wait for the RS5. It may get the 4.0TT. That would be sort of comparable.
Need displacement to be more equal to compete on pump gas.

Looks like the RS5 will be getting a V6 turbo. Unfortunately won't be comparable to a GTR.

I have always like the GTR and see them every now and then around here. This weekend saw one as we were out and my wife said "why don't you get us one?". [drool]
They are beasts for sure!

Pretty much this. It was probably a early 2009 stock GTR, or he wasn't really trying lol. Welcome to the B8 S4 section with the delusional kids. "Gods Chariot" [rolleyes]

I don't think we are that delusional.
Granted I agree, comparing the fastest S4s to the slowest GTRs is silly but...
Even the new GTRs run 11.2X@125ish 1/4s
Loe is running damn close to that with his current setup which isn't that aggressive.
Being "stock GTR" quick is still GTR quick. [:p]

I think OP is just impressed he stayed in the same zip code as a super-car contender, as he should be, but I don't think anyone here is "delusional" enough to directly compare the 2, right? I can't imagine "I'm cross-shopping a new GT-R and a new S4" has been said by anyone, ever...

Lol what happened here? Delusional about what? A 4-door family car costing $60k+$10k in mods TOPS to keep up with a $100k+ 2 door stock?
The guy who made the statement to me about my dyno was Chad Block of CBRD racing and the comment was unsolicited as he was impressed and throwing out a comparison that he stated made him start thinking about Audis again. If you don't know who he, or CBRD are, look them up.

What does this prove? Aren't B8 / 8.5 S4 with tunes putting down low 11 second passes? So...... in other words.....the S4 is actually faster (tuned vs stock GTR) ??

Nothing lol? As I said, I only posted it for reference for others so they dont have to dig around
also i think most regular gas stg 2 cars are high 11's looking at the 1/4 mile thread.

Alpha 90mm Downpipes
Alpha Race FMIC
Alpha Induction Kit and Intercooler Piping
Tial BOV’s
Alpha Complete Fuel System Upgrade
Alpha Ronin 94mm Stainless Steel Exhaust System
Alpha Boost Control Solenoid Kit
Cobb Accessport V3
Alpha ECU Calibration
Alpha Ronin Spec Transmission by Shepherd Racing

Doubt we will see many $170K GTRs on the road, maybe in Dubi. Now if they can do the same to a 2009-2010 GTR you could pick one up for $40-$50K and do the kit and be at the price of a new one. If one was in the market for a GTR and had the $110K budget that might be a better way to go.
Chris@EPL

I think they can work their magic on any of them. And probably similar pricewise from something like Lingenfelter, Hennessey, etc. And actually the AMS setup is probably cheaper.
I had a GT-R for 3 years. Mods included 3" intake, turbo inlet pipe (OEM 2012+ pipe), Downpipes (catted), Midpipe (removed secondary cats), 1000cc injectors and Custom Cobb tune, stock run flats on 93 pump. Made about 40-45 passes over the course of ownership with the above mods and consistently ran 107-10.8 131 to 133 mph. When I first got the car, I made several passes with only the off-the shelf Cobb tune and ran 11.1-11.2 at 123-124.

On my 09 GT-R. I ran a 10.84 @126 just with an intake and midpipe w/launch control. Flat footing it I ran 11.2 @124.
Here's my first run of 11.2 @124:

they are beast stock and their descriptors just keep getting nastier from there the more they add for go-fast parts.
Stock at my track, they run low-mid 11's (normally 11.3-11.5 @119-121mph), without any thought into it. Most stage 2 DSG guys wouldn't land in that area at my track, even on 100-104 octane.

They are monsters for sure. For those that had them how are they as a DD. Seems like they would not be that comfortable, but I have not been in one.

The track is in Palmer, Alaska. This is where we went when I lived in Anchorge, AK. I loved my GT-R as a daily. Very comfortable, 19 mpg when not on boost lol. I'm def going to get into one again.

Hell of a view for a track! Some day perhaps, the Mrs. likes them so that's one hurdle the other is saving the cash! In this case that is the larger of the two.

Gotcha. My wife and I were stationed at JB Elmo/Rich. We usually go back up every couple of years to visits friends. Definitely needs to be on everyone's bucket list if it isn't already. It's worth the trek.
