Hey guys, totally new to the Audi scene and very excited to be here so I apologize in advance for being a newbie..
Anyway, I bought a car off a very good friend of mine that I have fell in love with but just one small detail has changed: the BOV. So, here's the thing..up until a few weeks ago (and yes, I know the BOV has some flutter) the BOV would sound more like a whooooooosh...now, what seems to be going on is the the BOV is fluttering much more prevalent than before. I know some BOV sound exactly like this, but it's just bothering me because I want to make sure it's not connected to any issues. And I actually did prefer the whooooosh sound. I believe the BOV is from Forged.
Anyway, things I've done..I've checked plugs, coils, etc and looked lightly over the piping (everything seems to be tight). It shouldn't be a boost leak, according to keeping my eyes on the gauage. My next culprit was maybe to check the BOV, maybe it was some bolt or something etc. but I wanted some secondary input on anything else you can think of. Thanks for your help.

i'll go ahead and be the first to let you know that these cars are not equipped with BOV's rather they have DV (Diverter Valves). You have to check and see if the PO installed a DV+ which gives these cars that sound that everyone loves to have and go from there with your troubleshooting. also, if you tripped a CEL, post the codes and help will come.

Yeah. This car is by no means stock whatsoever. There's a BOV.

Its gotta be a forge dv or dv+. Its not a bov as our engines can't function properly with a bov

Sick logic. I asked my friend. And that's what he told me. Which is why I asked here. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected. But you're still being asswipes.

I'm not being an Ass. I didn't even replied to you. Lol anyways you want help i'll help this cars will run rich on BOV's. It can be done but are not meant to vent to atmosphere. It will actually loose power. If the car dose have a BOV replace it with revision D diverter valve. I have a DV for sale for $30 if you interested with only 20k miles on it.

you dudes did check out his car's build thread right?
OP, I'd say its possible surging you are hearing, and it may be a result of the spring stiffness in the BOV. As it vents, if the spring is too strong it will close prematurely causing the last of the venting pressure will push it back open, repeat, repeat, that's why it sounds like a chatter. You may need a softer spring for the summer months for the hotter/thinner air.
