Any thoughts on this? Does it increase performance and is there any cons?

Heat exchangers do not give you additional power. They just prevent significant loss of power due to heat soak. They're more for maintaining current power levels for a period of time.

I've only just begun testing mine after installing it. It helps preserve any power by keeping IAT's lower throughout the power range, particularly as temperatures get hotter. It will make your car make more power, however only relative in comparison to the stock cooling system in the same environmental conditions. In other words, having a coolant performance system and driving in 95F heat won't automatically make your car feel like a cold winter day, but having one in 95F heat you will out perform a car with stock cooling system in a side-by-side comparison.

By maintaining IAT's, you'll be able to take more advantage of ignition advance, and preserve that advantage as you go through the gears during WOT runs (and also during normal driving). I feel the AWE is a fairly high performance unit, it would have been the only way IHMO I could have run 11.4x in 89-93F heat in almost 2,900ft. density altitudes this past weekend.

There's a few different brands that make these.

I have PLM.

Miz,

I know you said that you love PLM but is it worth spending less $$ on this unit than spending more for the other brands? In your opinion of course. Also, I s there a noticeable difference in IAT's with your unit over the stock unit?

Thanks, Dave

Yes. Because it's almost identical to another brand [emoji6].

I don't love in in particular. It's a radiator. It does what it's supposed to. I would have built my own using a generic radiator if this wasn't available for the price. If you can get a deal on one of the others, then I'd say they're also fine alternatives.

I know you guys like numbers to try and compare, but there's threads on this already. It's the same as any others. This one doesn't divorce the systems, nor do I think is necessary.

What I do see is more consistent performance levels, especially in warmer conditions. Heat soak is much reduced, almost to the point where I can't really even say I notice it at all.

Normally I would see a huge performance dip after the car warms up. Not anymore. I think anyone who like performance should get one. I can equate this to driving your car when it's cool, but all the time.
