12.5/12.6? Is that accurate for an auto and 93 octane and stock tires with a fair 60'?

Thinking of mods but want to be able to return to stock quick if i need to go to dealer

An intake is about the easiest mod to change back to stock if need be.

1 post a month for 9 yrs, crazy!

I think you are pretty spot on with your expectations. More importantly I'd expect trap speeds to increase from around 104mph to around 110mph in a healthy car.

mid 12's would be reasonable from any ECU tune on 93 octane

I'm Stage 2 with TCU as well.

I would say low 12's. That's what I've seen for my car and others with the same at National Trails. Has run 11.9 though. All depends on track prep and how well you hook. I ran 12.2's all day with a full tank of 93 and my tires at the stock 41psi pulling just under 1.9 60ft times. (ran it just like she sits every day). Drop the psi down and hook better and bingo you're pulling 1.7-1.8 60ft times and you're in the 11's.

I wouldn't worry about reverting back to stock too much. Honestly, if you ever have a "major" issue with a drivetrain component techs will still be able to dig into the ECU and logs seeing you were tuned. Flash counters only tell one part of the story.

I think he's specifically asking about stage 1.

If you want to have the ability to flash back to stock at a moments notice, without having to drive to an APR/GIAC dealer potentially miles and miles away, check out EPL. Or you sound like you may be a perfect candidate for chipwerkes.

Good point about tire pressures. O/P yes this does matter, and yes it is track dependent so there is no correct answer on what is the magic number. I run 39 front/ 38 rear on mine and can land 1.58x 60 foots (you wont hit that with stage 1, but it gives you a picture on how high pressures can lead to good 60ft times with a good track prep).

seems like the best of the best 93 octane stg 2 ran 11.7-11,8. Unless, you have R compound, LW+rotor wheel, all mount , everything on check maintenance-wise yada yada, i think any stg2 should run constant off any street red light low 12 and a 0-100 in 4 sec. with LC and all the other mods, you could try to it a bit lower number, but then its not relevant in term of daily driving day to day situation.

Generally:

Stock: ~12.9
Stg1: ~12.5
Stg2: ~12.0

Different cars may be all around that range, but it's at least close.

Not sure of a better place to ask, but how can I see if my car is tuned (and by who) without emailing every tuner? I've had her for a couple years and never really cared but now I'm out of warranty and want to start playing. It was flashed back to stock before I bought it so I have no idea.

I don't think it even matters at this point, just go get a tune and call it a day.

Probably true but if it's already tuned isn't it just a flash fee to load it up again vs. paying full price?

Maybe, not sure how that would work but you would have to contact the main vendors to find out what tune was on it.

I'm APR stage 2 93oct and best I could muster so far is a 12.51 @ 111mph DA of 1834 and 90dg. 60ft was a 1.808. Seems really slow compared to others times with stage 2. Even after letting the car cool for 45min the SC was still too hot touch for more than a moment. Does heat make that much of a difference? For comparison there was an E55 who says he normally traps 122 who was only trapping 117-118mph. Could the car pick up 4mph with just some decent air?

Not sure the main vendors transfer tunes to other owners... Do they? I know its VIN dependent but Im sure they will argue that the owner forfeited the tune when he sold the car.

Cost me $145 to transfer the APR stage 2 tune that was on my car when I bought it to me. They also upgraded the flash from v1.02 to v3.0. which was worth almost 3mph in the 1/4.

I don't know yet but cant wait for it to cool of so I can find out. I am hoping for low 12s but the DAs always seem to suck here.
