Hi there,

I just wanted to share my experience with deciding to purchase and install these seats. There where bumps and unexpected charges along the way but now that its over I'm always excited to drive this car. Before I always felt that I was hanging on to the steering wheel when taking turns, and now I feel relaxed in place even while pushing the car.

There was always the fear of the airbag light being on and that was my biggest headache. I purchased the seats at RSW in Nj, and they performed the install with the resistors. When it came time for the bladder transfer they did not want to tear into the new Recaro. Their upholsterer was out of state so I picked up the car with the airbag light on. Later, few months later I was talking to Dion from Drive Auto Works and explained to him my situation. Dion offered to take the Recaro and stock seat to his upholsterer for the bladder transfer. I was thank full and happy with the results. Now, the airbag light was still on, the passenger pressure sensor (bladder) was active so this was not the problem. I ended up going back to RSW and they managed to install the correct resistor....Finally [race]

I thank you for the time to listen to my frustration during this install but I also wanted to inform the community that it was done. Up until now I wasn't really sure and like others contemplated just going the oem route with S4 Recaros. I paid probably a lot more than I should have since I went through different shops. My tips to any who tries to go tis route - 1) Be wise on who you decide for the install. 2) Get the install quote and stick with it. I say this because these things did not go as planned, but its over and I can now focus on enjoying the seats.

Pics of course...

I've been contemplating getting Corbeau or aftermarket Recaro's. I like the looks of the OEM Recaro seats, but I would like for the seat to sit a little lower than the OEM position so I can have a little more headroom.

These actually sit lower than the stocks, while also being way lighter

Those look like they were made to be in there. Perfect match.

At more than $1500.00 per seat, that is a steep bill for seats. If I had the disposable cash, I would definitely do it, but damn $3k is a lot to spend.

Its expensive yes but i waited and saved for it. Im not rich but I enjoy my car. You forgot the price for seat sliders, brackets, bladder transfer and resistors. It all adds up.

These are vinyl seats, and if you look at the picture it matches the grain on center arm rest. I was happy as hell.

Bumping to find out what seat bracket and slider you used?
