Down pipes from APR for S8? Are they available yet? Not on APRs site.

Stage 2 on APR states 688 hp and 727 torque. You got 475 and 538 can you explain the difference? That's over a 30 percent loss.

Yes, they fit the S8 but are too short. We made our own link pipes to make them work. If there is a local car to CT we would be happy to fabricate another set and gig them so we can ship them out to customers interested. If there is anyone in the Tri-State/new England area with a stock exhaust and wants downpipes, let me know. [email protected]

The loss is in the drivetrain and the type of dyno we are using. The mustang dyno's read a good 15% lower than the dynapack hub dyno that APR uses. With the drivetrain loss and typical lower numbers for the loaded dyno the numbers are just about spot on. The curve looks identical to APR's graph and we are very pleased. That is also a graph of Stage 1 vs stock... I need to grab the stage 2 plot off the dyno computer to post it.

Let us know what we can do to help!

FYI we have these downpipes in stock, so if you own an S8, get in touch with me if you want to make the jump to stage 2.

Thanks!

So is this car running with no cats and no resonators and a valved cat back exhaust ? Any followup from the owner about drone ? Thumbs up to your shop for working on the S8.

one day a 2015 S8 will finally reach my used car price point of about $60, ideally with sub 20k miles. When it does, sayonara S6. Absolutely my favorite model in the Audi line behind the RS6 avant. Please do keep us updated on your progress. As a bonus, I'll mail you some nice shit if you can figure out a way to make the back seats in that car fold down, which is the only nitpick I have with the car!

This car has one high flow cat in each downpipe (via APR downpipes) In the video the car had no resonators and jsut dual valved rear mufflers. We have added the Milltek center section to this exhaust to quiet it down.

I agree, this car has surpassed my love for the S6. Trust me, we wish the seats folded, makes installing the H&R ETS module more of a pain too. It is in a different location on this car (along the back seat) versus the right hand side of the trunk behind the taillight.

Ill update with some more pictures shortly.

Thanks!

I would like to follow along as this progresses. I was looking for an S6 but coming from a 2006 Mercedes S65 I think this is more along the lines of what I'm used to.
I would also like to hear feedback on the different model years. Is one better that the other? 2013 vs 2014 vs 2015?
As Brooklyn pointed out, I'm keeping an eye out for a low mile example within a budget....

Finally, the HP rating jumped in 2016 from 520hp to 605hp. Does anyone know what Audi changed?

Are there any rear caliper options? When compared to the front calipers they look anemic. This is only amplified by larger wheels.

I know right? Especially the 22's! Currently at this time? No, there are no options that are direct plug and play. We could probably make something fit, but the factory electronic e-brake will no longer be functional.

Thanks,

Greg

This is just the out of the box in dynamic mode. We have not turned the dials for the additional drop.... yet. Ill try and grab some better photos when the customer is back for fitment of the custom intakes.

Thanks!

Excelerate, what is the P310B fix?!?

What are the stage 2 dyno numbers? I just see "stage 1." Thanks

P310B is a low fuel pressure regulation code which was popping up in S8's with APR software. It was throwing us all for a loop since this code is not active in the OE software but is a valid PID in the ECU which APR activated. I am not 100% certain this car was limped in power with the code tripped, but the car definitely felt stronger after the updated fix.

Thanks,

Greg

FYI we have one set of these Downpipes in stock and are doing a labor special on installs for the S8 right now. If you are interested and local to Connecticut, pm me!

Greg, did you guys dyno stage 2? I wish I was local, but I'm in Texas.

Are your link pipes welded to the APR downpipes? It's frustrating that APR is not offering pipes that fit now.

These pipes are not welded to the APR pipes. :) but to the stock exhaust rather. I have a few ideas I want t try, but we need a local car here to test it on. I want this to be completely reversible without cutting or welding. Any takers? We have one set of downpipes left.

Thanks,

Greg

Slow progress on these but that's the development phase. I Just hope this all leads to something that people will be in need of and worth producing. I will keep everyone up to date on this project.

Thanks!

How about that Stage 2 dyno chart?

Chris Morales

Why do you want a dyno chart? Look at APR’s site for that. Look at my sig for an ET, which is what matters.

I can't seem to find the chart otherwise I would post it. The curve was literally identical to APR's graph. Numbers mean nothing on a dyno, this car read low on the Mustang next door, which we expected and aren't really concerned what they said. [:D]

I am trying to be helpful. I think what we are all getting at is, you can make a dyno read whatever you want. What in particular are you after? The curve or the numbers on the graph? I thing I remember where I stored all the graphs Ill have to check my external tomorrow.

Thanks!

The curves (charts) are already on APR’s website. The actual numbers don’t matter. The quarter mile performance is well documented. I have no idea what this guy thinks he is going to get from more dyno charts.

Check APR’s website!

"This guy" doesn't give a crap about numbers either...just the curve...a "real world" curve, and I want to see it on a dyno that I know...not a website, by a vendor, pushing a product...don't kill yourself trying to find it, I was just curious...if you find it, post it, if you don't, I'll live...thanks everyone...
